If one’s aim was to increase sharpness in the cockpit and outside like not 100 kms away I mean to read the taxiway signs at the airport what does one need to increase. Do you need to increase the render resolution ingame menu FS2020 VR menu? Then increase render resolution from say 100 to 150+ (or whatever your computer / gpu can take) OR does one go into the openxr menu in VR and set the resolution by manual override and increase this figure to get increased sharpness in the cockpit / taxway signs.
Currently on my rtx 3070 I am limited to how far I can push it as I would love to get better sharpness in the cockpit to read the instruments (although alot better than the G2) I am using the Q3 and it is not 100% sharp neither is the taxiway signs as it is hard to tell what the taxiway signs are saying.
I am thinking my hardware is the limiting factor in me not obtaining sharp image in the cockpit and now being able to read the taxiway signs properly.
I haven’t tried the Quest 3 in MSFS, but used to use the Oculus Debug tool and messed around with the supersampling figure to achieve the native resolution displayed in the MSFS graphics options (It involved a lot of decimal points to get 2736 for the Quest 2).
Now I believe the best option for the Quest 3 is to buy Virtual Desktop which now has native support for OpenXR. You can change supersample to the desired resolution easier and get performance improvements. Virtual Desktop "native" OpenXR support is here!
Yes I am using VD with OpenXR however when I increase the render resolution my frame rates drop to unacceptable levels in VR even in Openxr, I am trying to increase the resolution so I can get a sharper image and see the taxiway signs clearer and its not blurry, however when I do my fs is a slideshow so it looks like I will need to update my GPU at a minimum to get a sharper image in Q3.
What is your oculus software of the headset-resolution set at?
it might be that the headset is still sitting at it’s idle position (which is a lower res than it can actually do) and that VD is trying to upscale that lower resolution to no avail?
Or are you circomventing the oculus software by using Openxr (sorry, i’m still learning that vr stuff as well)
Yes I am not connected wired, I am using Virtual desktop with openxr.
If your using VD it overrides Oculus settings, with a 3070 I don’t think you have the grunt to get where you want to get to

Yes that’s what I’m thinking but what has effect the menu within FS2020 render resolution? or the inbuilt vr openxr resolution set (ctlr f2) in VR mode.
