I would recommend P3D. I have been an X-Plane user since 2018, I decided to give P3D v5 a try and never looked back. Airliners for P3D are a lot more realistic than their X-Plane counterparts and new default trueSKY atmospherics at day beats anything for X-Plane with the exception of xEnviro. I also find default ground textures of P3D better than X-Plane. Either case, there’s a free software called Ortho4P3D which allows creating satellite scenery for regions of the world - it works exactly the same way as Ortho4XP. Since v5 camera controls have improved, so I would say you don’t need Chaseplane anymore. For weather there’s freeware FSXWX, which does the job really well. In short, you “only” need to get airports and airliners you want to fly. While X-Plane has an edge over P3D in terms of free accurate airports and flight dynamics, it’s not enough for me to return.
