Constant CoherentGTCore.dll and CoherentUTGT.dll CTDs after fresh install

Hi,

I’ve just done a fresh reinstall of my PC and am in the process of reinstalling the sim again. The initial install of MSFS completes successfully however once the sim is installed I’m experiencing constant CTDs. These happen after 1-5 minutes whilst installing content, browsing around the menus or. just leaving the sim running. I’ve not yet been able to load into the sim due to these CTDs.

I’ve tried pretty much every solution I’ve come across whilst browsing the forums. Reinstalling the sim again, verifying install files, rolling back GPU drivers, creating a page file, resetting BIOS to default settings without tuning etc. Nothing seems to work.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot further (ideally without a second windows reinstall) would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

I don’t have any installed, completely fresh install of the sim.

Brief description of the issue:

MSFS crashes to desktop with fault modules CoherentUIGT.dll or CoherentGTCore.dll. The crashes happens at random whilst the sim is starting up or in the menus.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version (Learn how to find your current graphics card driver version):

Initially NVIDIA 561.09 (latest at the time of windows reinstall), rolled back to 560.81 which worked fine prior to reinstalling windows.

PC specs and peripheral set up:

A little update, I bit the bullet and reinstalled windows a second time. Completely clean reinstall, formatted the C drive and everything and started from scratch.

The sim installed fine, downloaded all the mandatory content without issues. I then went into the content manager, started downloading the WUs and other content I want, and after a few minutes of downloading it crashed with the same errors as before. I’ve restarted the sim and resumed downloading a few times now and it keeps crashing after a while. Sometimes more or less straight away, sometimes after only a couple GBs of downloading and one time it managed ~30GB before crashing.

I am completely clueless as to what would cause this. The fact that it has now happened on two separate windows installations leads me to believe it may be a hardware issue, but at the same time I never had this problem before the first reinstall a week ago and I haven’t changed any hardware in the PC.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this further? I am completely lost.

What about BIOS update? Samsung firmware update?

Latest version of both, it hasn’t actually crossed my mind to roll back BIOS. Will try that and report back.

Currently, BIOS versions are crucial due to issues with Intel microcode and the potential degradation of CPU that have been, or may still be, exposed to elevated Vcore voltage levels. This issue affects Intel’s 13th and 14th generation processors, including your CPU.

Seems like rolling back to a BIOS version from July solved the issue. I am yet to attempt a full flight but have been able to install content/3rd party addons as well as spawn in to test them out, which was impossible before. Fingers crossed it stays this way!
