Constant CTD every flight now (ntdll.dll)

Have Asobo made any statements?
Like going to published a fix… ASAP?

Otherwise it seems MSFS flying is pretty much grounded just now?

Well - To Asobo: Hang in guys … Love this sim…

All the best

I only fly online (IVAO network), so the only thing I have ‘live’ is the weather. No traffic used, only the one the IVAO client injects. There was no nearby traffic when the crashes occurred.

Could be a fluke or a solution. Set the weather to live then using the slider move it back or forward 1 hour. I seem to be having luck with that!! It then changes to Preset I know it is then not Live Live but its an hour, you could try less maybe 10 mins?

But it seems to be ok thus far"

Like this suggestion… with this online server…

Ok i think i have managed to find a fix for this i have just done under a 3 hour flight that was giving me CTD constantly before and this “fix” seemed to have fixed those as i have manged to do the flight fully. Obviously do this at your own risk as it may not be the actual fix and i just got lucky.

Open Powersheel and ensure you launch as admin.

copy and paste these one at a time and press enter after each one then close powershell down and try and run the sim.

add-mppreference -exclusionprocess “flightsimulator.exe”

HIT ENTER
add-mppreference -exclusionprocess “gamingservices.exe”

HIT ENTER

add-mppreference -exclusionprocess “gamingservicesnet.exe”

Hit enter then when done close powershell.

If one have AIG traffic.. it is still all traffic of…
Live Weather - move the slider - which make weather going to preset…
And all data off… And MSFS2020 Map Enhancement - I think works…

I did a third flight today and got a second CTD.

Ah, you think it may be AV related, and Windows Defender is stomping on FlightSimulator.exe?

Good idea, and if right it’s possible a Defender update has caused this, which might make sense why so many people got this out of the blue, as well as why some never get it as they may not have Defender enabled.

Hardly ever have CTD’s but tried 2 flights the last 2 days and crashed each time.

I haven’t had any CTDs and today I’ve had two in a row. Really hope Asobo will look into this and let us know what is going on.

I doesn’t use MS Defender, i use ESET Nod32 and no recent Windows update.
I think is a false way.

I’m getting repeated CTDs for the first time, but it seems to be regional. I’ve flown up the length of the UK with no problem, but when trying to fly up the east coast of Australia, north of Brisbane, I’ve had four CTDs.

Possibly, but it could be worth investigating all the same. If it was a signature update that multiple AV vendors have applied, it could cause issues with those products as well.

I had a quick look at this page:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/definitions/antimalware-definition-release-notes?requestVersion=1.373.740.0

It lists changes to the definitions. My related crash occurred yesterday at 22:34.

There were several updates on the 20th, the last one roughly an hour before my crash:

1.373.674.0
1.373.684.0
1.373.688.0
1.373.691.0
1.373.694.0
1.373.705.0

There were only updates to existing threats, rather than new ones, so its possible this is related.

Same here 3 times today.

SU10 beta and the Fenix A320, both in DX11 and DX12, same flight repeated 3 times, always fails around the same area as I enter the northern part of Iberian Peninsula comming from the Biscay Golf on a flight from Copenhagen.

No GSX or 3pd airports installed, using real world weather and air traffic.

I use Defender and have no CTD this weekend… So would doubt that it is Defender related.

Luckily I’ve had no crash today either, though I’ve only flown about 2 hours in total, if that, so hardly tempting fate. If this is AV related though, we may find this error just disappears all by itself if those responsible update a problematic protection.
