Constant CTD Not ntdll.dll

I reinstalled MSFS and it CTD’s on startup. Maybe I am missing files.

There was no HTML file and I searched in all of the C; drive. Regarding MSFS, I realized that I installed the XBox version by mistake, so I uninstalled it, and I am now installing the PC Store version.

OMG! That’s awesome. It seem to be works for me
Many thanks!

Nice! Glad it helped. Happy flying!!

EDIT: repeat this each time you add any more mods or update any existing ones. Worth doing once in a while just to check.

I have a few scenes yes (about 30) and some planes. I’ve been looking for weeks to find out where my CTDs come from. I’ve tried everything… except this!
Many thanks !

You can thank @ScarsStitches as he’s the one that informed me about this function in the program when I was complaining of CTD’s

LOL the fact that this is the 3rd time you thank me really shows the mold of your goodhearted character. Imagine if i gave you $10,000 :rofl::rofl:.

I think who we should be all thanking is Mr “Bad2000” at FSTO for creating such an indispensable and brilliant tool for MSFS.

its not necessary and like SPAM! to post the exact same error message three times.

Much more usefull is to mention the situition where it happens, the installed mods, system specs, etc.

Faulting process IDs are not the same, and if anyone at Microsoft or Asobo is paying attention that could be data for them that may be useful.

Regarding further details that you asked for. Payware airports installed are Budapest, Athens, Chania, Newcastle upon Tyne, Madeira, Gran Canaria

Freeware addons are: We Love VFR,

All of these crashes were while flying the PMDG 737-700 with the Smartwings livery installed from the Ops Center

I get the same error all the time:

I’ve been working with MSFS Support but they always send me the same stuff. All these CTD started happening the weekend of August 19. I’ve enjoying MSFS for 2 years since its launch with no issues or CTD. I reinstalled Windows 11. Repaired, Reset and Reinstalled MSFS twice. Ran all the diagnostics and no errors were found. This happens in Safe Mode using the A320neo. The aircraft loads and that’s it. It crashes after 1 to 3 minutes. This is very frustrating since I know systems and software, and the problem is that this error can be caused by many interacting drivers or services. Very frustrating and I am ready to move on until SU10 is provided and can give it another try. This PC is only used for MSFS and no other apps outside MSFS.

MSFS Support says this:

Application Error 0xc0000005 (Access Violation) error is usually caused by your computer not being able to correctly process the files and settings required to run a particular program or installation. Despite the error showing when you try and use particular pieces of software, it has many different causes including faulty RAM problems, errors with the files of your PC and issues with the settings of your PC.
In this case, we suggest that you check for corrupted Windows system files. System File Checker (SFC) is a utility in Windows that scans for corrupted Windows system files. If it finds a problem, it will try to replace the problematic system files from a cached version that’s on your PC.

To run System File Checker (SFC), follow these steps:

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt, then select Run as administrator > Yes.
  2. At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow (note the space between sfc and the /). Scanning will take a few minutes.
  3. If SFC finds corrupted files and replaces them, restart your PC.

I’ve run SFC /Scannow and it always comes back clean

This type of error is perhaps the most generic type of exception you can get, so I wouldn’t look too much into the proposed solutions they sent. If you open Event Viewer and filter by “Application Error,” you will likely see multiple programs that threw the 0xc0000005 exception code.

Just had a crash, yet again when near an airport, after about an hour or so of flying.

This time one of the 0xc0000005, and .NET Framework related ones.

When I relaunched the sim, I had this message as it loaded.

image

I assume this is not coincidence, and the sim can’t cope with the rug being pulled out from under its feet.

of course, because each time you start MSFS you get a new process. Intressting might be the fault-bucket-id.

But again… you chat here with us, the community. In case you think the error message is important for the developers, add these at the ZenDesk Ticket you hopefully have created.

Because of the installed mods, you can also try some test-cases without these scenery. It might be important whether this is helpfull.

But yes, in a parallel topic I allready asked whether only users of the

are affected.

Really hoping somebody can help me. Had no issues since the ntdll fiasco a few weeks ago and all of a sudden I’ve started to experience constant CTD 1 to 2 hours in.

All software. drivers etc are up to date.

My specs are Ryzen 7 3700X, 32Gb Ram, AMD Radeon RX5700 8gb VRAM, whilst I know some might argue that’s not enough spec, it’s not been a problem since I bought the PC 2 years ago exclusively for this sim and I get great performance from the spec with the game.

Details from event viewer:

FlightSimulator.exe
1.26.5.0

It happens to me (CTD) even in Safe Mode with Asobo generic aircraft like the A320neo. It started the weekend of August 19.
