Constantly crashing when starting a flight

Lately when I try to start a flight the loading screen pops up then the game freezes and crashes out. I can sit in the menu for hours, do things in settings etc. Doesn’t matter what airport or plane (I tried tons of combinations).

This happened before and the only thing that fixed it was uninstall/reinstall. I’d rather not have to do that every month or so and redownload ~90GB. I’ve followed the “return to vanilla” steps and that didn’t change anything. It’ll work fine for weeks and then one day just refuse to work. Any ideas?

I’m running an i5-7600K with a GTX 1070 and 16GB DDR4. Running off of an M.2 SSD.

Do you have the Rolling Cache turned on?
If so, try emptying it and see if that helps.

Make sure you dont have any GeForce filters applied…(alt+f3) and make sure its set to off… there’s a bug being fixed in a coming update

I did come across that possible solution when searching and tried that but no dice

I’ll check that out later this afternoon. Thanks for the suggestion

No styles and no filters. Still crashing after loading a flight.

I’ve tried different aircraft and different airports so it doesn’t seem to be a bug in that regard.

This may be a good place to start:
https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406047820690-How-to-troubleshoot-crashing-on-the-loading-screen-issues

I’ve followed all of that. More than once.

*Rolling cache is turned off but I delete it anyways.
*I have no mods or downloads or addins and my Community folder is empty.
*I’ve deleted all the cached files.
*The program is allowed through both Windows Defender and Malwarebytes.
*I’ve disabled both programs.
*I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled gaming services.
*Windows, Xbox and Gaming Services are all up to date.
*I’ve unplugged my joystick.

Literally nothing works except uninstalling and reinstalling the game and this isn’t the first time it’s happened. It’ll work perfectly normal one day then just not work the next. Also being that it’s from Game Pass that means I have to redownload the whole game every time.

Even safe mode doesn’t work

The past few Nvidia Drivers have been causing a lot of users to crash.

Try reverting to version 531.29 and see if that helps

No go on that. Uninstalled in safe mode with DDU and installed that version right form nvidia’s website. Rebooted after install. Made sure to NOT install GeForce Experience (I never use it anyways). Just tried again - same thing. Click FLY then the loading bar gets about 1/3 of the way and it freezes for a few seconds then crashes. Looks like another uninstall/reinstall -_-
