GLOBAL WARMING PERHAPS?

Since the latest update my experience has been dreadful. One problem after another.

Madrid today with live weather:

After i took off and reset the data to switch Bing graphics back on over the centre of Spain !:

But then it finally sorted itself out and the end result…

I think the best Birthday Present for the simulator would be to employ somebody who knows about aviation, and is competent in programming, to take over and sort this mess out. Meanwhile I download Prepar3d again.

That last image is from the upcoming MSFS+Minecraft crossover, currently in development.

I have the same issue. It works sometimes, about one day in four. I also notice that Current Data Consumption still increases by about 250MB per 10 minutes even though the sim isn’t rendering any Bing data in flight. And the World Map does not display satellite imagery either.

So im not alone

And I have a 75MB fibre Internet connection that is working perfectly with 17ms server ping and an nvme 2 SSD with over 1TB space.

Yea I don’t think internet speed or lack of HDD space is the issue

Can someone please help me. I keep getting a “flightsimulator.exe has stopped working” ever since the update. I’ve reinstalled twice to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Which servers did you ping?

If I click on my login name at the top right it shows me as being offline on the EU North server. But that’s just the multiplayer server status, I don’t know whether that has anything to do with where the Bing data comes from.

Yes, you need to go to the Options/General/Data to confirm that 1) you are on-line, 2) Bing Data is active.

Done that and recycled the settings over a dozen times, makes no difference. It doesn’t tell you which server the Bing data is coming from though.

No. The important thing is that Bing Data is turned ON. If on-line is set to ON and Bing Data is ON you are getting data from the server you are connected to (which you indicated earlier).

Another variable is you bandwidth (speed of connection), the system throttles according to your bandwidth to provide the best performance. If you have a poor connection, your graphics quality will be impacted.

You could use rolling cache to improve the situation, in that flying in the same area will be assisted by the rolling cache.

Just some ideas.

Tried all that, I was just replying to the guy who asked me which servers I ping.

Correct, it does look like the map data is not coming from the account/multiplayer servers. Still interested in which servers you pinged though. The ones where the data come from would definitely be different. That’s why i’m interested which servers you have pinged. If you got any hostnames it could help identify if there is a connection issue there :+1:

Man…that is so real!

First flight after the update I’m almost almost tearing my hair out my controls are wonky. Then I discover flight controls are essentially frozen (joystick/throttle/pedals) if the right mouse button is being held down simultaneously! So my rudders don’t work whilst I’m looking left/right. Throttle don’t work whilst I’m looking down. its stupid. definitely wasn’t like this before!

I wish I could see what you think you’re seeing in these screenshots, because they look great to me. I see no issues.

There’s also a problem with artifacts/streamers that come off of airport light poles when we’re moving past them. Something is definitely broken again.

Problems with streamers/artifacts when flying past airport light poles are back when there are clouds. They were fixed in the post UK update patch, but they’re back. This really annoys me especially when they ruin an otherwise beautiful video.

My mouse cursor keeps disappearing when I snap back to cockpit view on my assigned joystick button.

Trim seems off and every aircraft I fly is over-sensitive with pitch. I’ve tried to change sensitivities, but it didn’t help much. They still have a big overbounce when I pass a certain point on pulling or pushing the stick.

Textures are still awful after you reach a certain altitude. The blurry fix certainly didn’t really help much at the end of the day.

Just a few complaints since I’m in the neighborhood…
