Content Manager Updates

Confused with what I see - please help.
When I look in the Content Manager I see many items that seem to need updating but I do not see how to do that.
When I look at one as an example and look at the Dependencies I am even more confused.

Am I missing something? Or do I need to do something that I have not yet done?
