Same for me (after the big patch again on PC !) , my second joystick won’t keep my configuration when I switch planes or close the game! Just to clarify, I did set my configuration as default!
The controls need to be using the same interface as 2020. 2024 is just too complicated. I have created new blanks and configured them for what I want then they either disappear or get overwritten. Please make it simpler and fix it!
I have a similar problem with my Thrustmaster Warthog (I’m on PC). Every time I start the sim I have to reconfigure my controllers, I have been using the Cessna 172 exclusively, and it’s making FS 2024 unusable.
When the program was first released, it was fine, so I’m wondering if the update caused the problem.
My Warthog isn’t the problem because I reinstalled FS 2020 and it worked fine.
I’ve done a complete Windows reinstall but nothing resolves the issue, this really is getting beyond a joke.
I have 6 VKB controllers and additional non-VKB controllers and this happens Every. Single. Time. I load the simulation. Please fix this!!!
I tried duplicating and renaming the profiles as some have suggested - it does not work. As you can see in the screen shot this is an example of an aircraft profile not loading. Every time I load the sim I need to select the control profile for every VKB device. Strangely, this does not seem to happen with devices that have a default profile in the sim, like TFRP rudders.
If you need more information or recordings of this issue, please contact me. I am using MSFS 2024 (Steam version).
On what windows Version is everyone on pc on?
I reinstalled 23h2 for my G2 to work. Now i have the same Issue that wasn’t there on 24h2. I also feel like 23h2 is switching all save Files to read only all the Time…
Deleting the steam cloud save data of the game resolved the issue. Now the “Apply to all Aircraft” or “Set as Default” are working as intended it seems.
Of course doing this makes you have to remake a profile from scratch but at least it gets applied to all aircraft when you want it to.
This is not a fix of the bug in my opinion, the could save shouldn’t get messed up in the first place.
This started randomly happening to me with my rudder pedals. It shows three of them now and I have to select them in the menu and switch the profiles around every time I enter a flight. Very annoying when you forget and then throttle up with no brakes or steering capabilities.
I have this issue with the 2nd of two controllers that have the same name, “Generic USB Joystick”. Its profile keeps reverting back to ‘None’.
I wonder if having the same name is causing my problem.
I’ll try that. I redid all the profiles today, and it can’t seem to remember them.
Sorry, that didn’t fix it for me. The sim will not remember my controller profiles.
Either you created it or the manufacturer of the device provided it.
On that Preset, duplicate it and name it None.
Then Clear it.
With all three Presets named None, set Filters = Assigned.
The screen should be blank.
Change to the undefined Preset.
Is the screen blank? If so, there are no mappings in it.
Delete it.
Yup, i’m having the same issue, randomly pops up some error that say multiple new xinputs have beed added or something, re-mapping all my controls, time after time after time, incredibly frustrating and the game is just ruined because of it, i can’t even get off the ground before it does it, creating multiple new xinputs and remapping everything so idk what to do, why isn’t this fixed yet? I’ve had this going on for like a month if not more, please fix it, i wanna enjoy the game, not having to deal with this bug that’s a massive pain in the butt
