Now another device has been randomly detected and messed up my mapping AGAIN.
When you’re on Autopilot Cruise, it is normal for the bluetooth to disconnect to save battery.

When it reconnects, this happens. This has to stop, please!

Another proof of concept.

Everytime you reconnect your controller, FS2024 creates a new default profile.

This definately has to be patched PLEASE.
You see how the list goes on, compared to the previous screenshots.

Its the same with or without DS4Windows (for the PS5 controller).

This seems like it might be a problem with how Windows is dealing with the PS5 controller rather than the sim.

If it’s getting a new ID or something each time it connects I’m not sure what could be done about it.

If I remember I’ll have a go with mine.

it’s a 2024 problem, in 2020 it works just fine. I refunded just because of it, the keybinding is gone with bluetooth devices like quest 3 controllers

Seeing a very similar issue on the XBOX when reconnecting the keyboard.

This happens VERY frequently for me. It’s not just when I go into a new aircraft for the first time: it happens whenever I switch aircraft…and sometimes more frequently than that (it happened x3 during a single flight earlier today…and I obviously wasn’t changing aircraft mid-flight).

I’m on an Xbox series x with a TM TCA Airbus Captain’s pack and TM rudder pedals. I also play with a controller, mouse and keyboard. This happens on all the devices that I’ve customised the mappings for (i.e., not the controller or mouse as far as I’ve noticed). Not only will it revert back to the original default (rather than my chosen default) at seemingly random times, it has frequently forgot the mappings.

In addition to this errant and random remapping, MSFS appear to have some kind of fetish for messing with my rudder pedals and brakes. Specifically, it will randomly only let the rudder go in one direction. It’s not consistent and it sometimes limited to the left side and others stuck to the right. The brakes on the other hand just stop working…the mapping doesn’t appear to be lost/forgotten: they just stop working at random. This has caused many issues on take off and landing, obviously! And I no longer have confidence with the controls are set properly at any given moment. In other occasions I’ve had the stick just disable itself (which I’ve only discovered when it came time to rotate). This cause me to plough my owned plane into a forest of trees at the end of the runway.

I’ve spent x4 4-5 hour sessions of re-mapping the controls. It has already forgotten the mapping this afternoon. I will try doing it once more and if I have this happen again I will be returning the game, xbox and thrustmaster controls (which were all bought specifically for MSFS 2024 last week).

This has caused me untold trouble: I crashing my owned plane in career mode TWICE…leading to me spending hours fighting bugs just get myself out of debt…only for it to happen again. I’ve basically had zero fun playing this game, spent 90% of my intended gameplay time troubleshooting issues. It feels like a job more than anything fun at this point. I can’t even play the game on a very basic level.

Who in their right mind honestly thought releasing this as a good thing to do. I would honestly have preferred the launch was delayed by a year for the to get this right. As it stands, I’ve lost any passion, excitement or fun in the game…and I’m reconsidering whether I want to do any simming at all. The investment of time required for the most minimal amount of fun/gameplay is just too much. I mean…control settings reverting back to the original default what’s less of what is set to default by the user; come on, this is really basic functionality that profoundly impacts on the experience. These aren’t little issues. These are game-breakers. I honestly thought people were being ridiculous with the response during the first 72 hours of release but I was wrong. And to think this is what I’ve been waiting for the past 18 months.

I’ll have it reset a device to the default binding profile for that device as well despite previously setting a custom profile for that aircraft.

I suspect it has something to do with the bindings being streamed as well, which is s absolutely absurd for something that could be stored locally.

Holy ■■■■. This just happened to me. Complete reset of my keyboard mappings!!! WTH!!

I’ll be putting this game on ice for a while. Absolutely no enjoyment at the moment. As mentioned above, I’ve spent hours trying to bind keys only to have it reset in me. Unreal.

Just happened to me too. All of my mappings I have been using since launch are gone. This program should have never been released in this state.

Mine too. It’s happened a couple of times before but today I’ve had enough of it. I’ve been trying to get a flight out of this “sim” for 3 hours, now the mappings have disappeared again so I’m throwing in the towel. What a complete waste of time.

Same here - bindings change back to the default 2024 profile sporadically and my customized profiles are suddenly missing commands that I’ve mapped. I’ve reconfigured mine 3 times now, spending about 4 hours yesterday doing so.

Furthermore, I’ve experienced more CTDs while configuring controls than I have flying, at least 3 so far that I can recall.

Tip - when you create a custom profile, clear it first and you won’t have to deal with all of the command conflicts later. I find it faster to start from scratch with a blank one than to try to eliminate conflicts. And I don’t get unexpected things happening, like turning on CFD visualization when trying to activate a saved view or bring up the comms panel when charging the Nav frequency.

Same kind of mess with Xbox serie X configuration !

3? I’ve had at least 50 crashes.

I have had more than 10 chrashes and have spent countless hours hopping that «now everything is ok» . It hasn’t happened - flying MSF2020 until Microsoft has fix all problems with MSF2024. Hopefully asap.

Same issue for me. Controller mapping reset when using a new/different plane.I just had to quit until I can find time to remap it all.

Same here, even if I set to default or all its still resetting on all peripherals

Yeah here too. But i cant see a pattern really. Yet. Its so weird. SOmetimes it resets to the default profile but sometimes its seems to add bindings to some of the profiles as well. Or reset them if deleted, not sure.

But i end up frequently to delete bindings that i had deleted already. Its especially noticable with the camera bindings i set to keyboard.

I set Drone View to my + key, external view to # and cockpit to -. In my GA and my Airliner Profiles. And if i search now after setting this for button input, it shows only this 1 binding.

But few hours or days later i have again multiple bindings there i have to delete from these buttons.

Same issue here… Spent an hour binding my controls then switched plane and it’s back to default. Infuriating…

I have to report that I seem to have reached some sort of stability with this now. This has been the case for several days so it has nothing to do with the 3rd patch. It’s also specifically to do with the bindings deleting themselves. The issue of the sim switch profiles back to the original default is still very much live and something I’ve just about learnt to love with now. Like others, though, I haven’t really found a pattern. It seems to occur at random. The one thing I have noticed is that it happens 95% of the time whenever I switch plane (note: not plane type, but the specific plane. In other words, it happens almost always when I switch from using one of my company’s 172 to another of my company’s 172).
