My patience is used up. I’m spending more time mapping controls than actually flying, EVERY TIME I get into another aircraft I have to remap everything from the beginning because it resets itself to default!!!
Please, if anybody knows a fix for this: HELP ME.
Otherwise please go upvote that bug report of mine!!
And then I remap it and the 5 other recognized controllers (which only get ADDED when you disconnect and connect your Bluetooth device) still fcking have the default mapping on and then you go through mapping 5 controllers before you discover the next shtshow!!!
There’s little buttons for set default and “apply to all aircraft” (or something to that effect) in tiny text near the bottom left of the clutter. Click those.
I have tried that hundreds of times. It simply does not apply.
It is normal for a bluetooth controller to disconnect after like 5 minutes when you’re on Autopilot and then you reconnect it, MSFS2024 creates a new Controller all of a sudden with default bindings and THOSE default bindings apply IN ADDITION to your own Controller mapping, so you need to check 5 controllers in order for everything to work again.
I’m sorry to explode here in the forum but this aircraft specific controller mapping nonsense needs to stop here and now!!!
Apply to All Aircraft has NO effect no matter how often I click it.
I know there are certain controller configurations where every time you connect it, they may get a new ID at the OS level, particularly if you plug it into a different USB port. I had that issue with Elite Dangerous because I was putting my devices through Joystick Gremlin and I’m guessing similar software may have the same type of issue.
Different games differentiate devices in different ways though. But if you’re using some kind of pass through software (to set curves or what have you), that could be where the root of the issue is and the issue may show up in other tittles, Elite for sure.
Just checking, but, if you go back to the same aircraft, does it remember your settings?
It’s not normal to have bluetooth devices disconnect however in this situation. That’s possibly your issue. You can go into settings and have it not disconnect your devices.
Thanks for trying but but was never an issue in MSFS2020 and shouldn’t be in its successor. It would be stupid for software to have BT-devices connected without putting them in stand-by especially in the context of Flightsimming.
The reasons (battery life, cruise, autopilot etc.) should be plenty good to justify that.
Stupid or not, disabling auto power off is in the FAQ for fixing a lot of games and has been since forever. Screaming about whether it should be or not isn’t going to help you.
But as for the topic. The only thing I can suggest is a reinstall and make sure that when it prompts you to create a new profile, click:
Apply to all aircraft
Make default
That’s what I did on first install and have zero issues with bindings.
The only other option is to log it as an issue and see if Asobo can fix it at some point. How quickly they do that will depend on how many votes you get for it. Personally, I wouldn’t wait seeing FS2024 installs so quick.
This topic would be much better titled " … how I need to REMAP MY controller …" as I’ve never had to remap mine even once after I initially set them up on day 2 of release.
