Description of the issue:

Hello, I hope you’re doing well. I’m doing great myself. Since the release of Update 3, I feel like a new bug has appeared, and Microsoft might be thinking, “Well, we’ve made an excellent update, players will be proud of it.” Unfortunately, it’s once again a disappointment.

The bug I’m referring to happens whenever I enter mountainous areas with any aircraft—whether it’s a default one or an add-on. The flight controls completely freeze. This means it becomes impossible to fly or control the aircraft at all, right in a very critical phase: approach and landing.

If you’re lucky, your aircraft might still capture the approach instruments and descend automatically. But if you’re not, and everything has to be done manually, good luck—it almost always ends in disaster. Without full control of the aircraft, the outcome is simply a crash.

I believe Microsoft hasn’t properly tested their beta, because this kind of bug should not exist in the first place. And the issue affects both Xbox and PC players.

In short, this bug needs to be fixed urgently. Mountains are everywhere in the world, and having a bug that ruins an entire flight is extremely frustrating. It’s really sad to see all this work, but only half done.

Yesterday I had to test a few things on Xbox and spend three hours shooting approaches into Innsbruck. Zero problems due to the mountains. Had some tough weather though.

I don’t fly on Xbox, but some family members do and they haven’t had any problems as yet. Myself on PC have also not experienced the problem. What controllers are you using?

Perhaps also if you could do a video of this happening?

In fact it’s when I arrive towards the mountains my controller no longer responds to the commands that I send it the plane itself does not freeze but but commands if it is already 2 times 1 time with the 737max Asobo 2 with the lvfr a321ceo and I can confirm it because yesterday I am making an approach to Sarajevo and it made me the same bug

Sleepy, you can confirm your own issue, but if nobody else can confirm it, it points to an issue with your system, not in the software. It would be hard to imagine how mountains can affect the aircraft systems.

Is the OP using any other wireless peripherals with his xbox alongside the controller? Sometimes the controller needs repairing if for example BT headset and other peripherals are all working at the same time. Best to check the control options menu when the issue occurs and check the controller is listed as connected. If not listed just re-pair the controller.
I had a similar problem when connected to a BT surround sound unit

I am currently doing tests and my xbox controller has no worries or problems it works as I ask it on the other hand I have noted 2 planes that have the controls that respond more in approach the lvfr a321ceo legacy and the 737max Asobo so its comes from the game because I didn’t have it before

It’s a real issue When my plane reaches the cruise and I start my descent impossible to regain control of the plane it has not frozen but the controls do not respond with the joystick

I cleared the cache nothing to do I will reinstall the game if its persists it’s not on my side

In that case you will have to explain why it only happens to you. With hundreds of thousands of users it would seem there would be at least a few thousand users who would scream murder on forums. I don’t see them, do you?

I have conducted a full analysis of the systems, and here is the bug I encountered. The issue occurs as follows: I performed three flights — the first one lasted 1 hour, the second 2 hours, and the third 3 hours.

On the 1-hour flight, everything worked fine: when leaving the aircraft in cruise and starting the descent, all controls responded normally. The same applied for the 2-hour flight. However, the issue only appeared once the flight exceeded 3 hours.

What happens is that the controller profiles stop responding during the approach and taxi/landing phase. In practice, I can no longer control the aircraft properly and I am forced to go back into the settings and re-apply my controller profile. This is very unusual, because takeoff works perfectly every time — the issue only appears on approach.

I have already reset the game to check whether the problem was only on my side, but it is not. This appears to be a bug related to Microsoft or possibly affecting other players as well. I am confident this issue is linked to Update 3, since it never occurred with Update 2.

It is very strange to assume this is my fault, because it clearly originates from the game itself. We all know that when Microsoft releases an update, it sometimes breaks other features. Therefore, in my opinion, this requires a quick fix in the next update.

Also, I am not the only one reporting this — on forums like Reiki, players are also mentioning similar bugs with controller profiles freezing or resetting during the approach.

Hi All,

I can confirm there is a bug where controller input is lost during certain phrases of flight. I am using the Velocity One controller with Xbox and 2024. On most approaches and occasionally during takeoff my controller aileron and elevator inputs are not recognised. Other buttons and throttle controls on the flight 1 controller still work. If I pause the sim occasionally the control comes back. This is with the latest release of flightsim and wasn’t an issue previously.
