Good Day!
Since switching to the new flight simulator I have had huge problems with the control, it annoys me that the control flaps always stay on the stop and do not jump back directly like in the old flight simulator if there is an option to change this, I would be happy if someone knows how I change that Thank you!
Or you can relearn and get used to this new reality?
What do you mean by ‘control flaps’ and ‘stay on the stop’?
And Neo…dude, he’s asking for help cos he’s got the controls mapped wrong somehow. Be nice.
Sorry, I’m just sensitive when people trying to make new things work like the old ways instead of learning how to operate the new systems and get used to the new situations.
I’d be a lot nicer if OP only says the first part of the sentence.
@BachKarotte4509, what type of hardware are you using? There are multiple types of hardware, and how simulators interpret them. Most controls only give inputs when they’re moved, and once they move back to the neutral position, the hardware stops giving the inputs.
So when you move the joystick to the right, the aircraft starts banking to the right. When you release your joystick to move back to the neutral center, the aircraft no longer receives command to keep turning so they stop turning. Since from the first command it was told to turn, when it stops, the aircraft will stay in the banking position. This is just aerodynamic physics. It would only roll back to the level flying when you give bank commands to the other side, in this case to the left until your airplane is level, then release the control again to go back to the center.
If you’re expecting the plane becomes level when you release the controls, that means a release of the control would give input into the sim to turn the other way around until it levels off. The only flying sim/game that behaves this way that I remember was Ace Combat Series on Arcade controls. Which is useful when using XBox controllers. I don’t remember if this is the same behaviour in FSX, since I haven’t flown FSX since 2007. So my memory may not be as reliable. But I do feel like FSX controls are the same behaviour in MSFS 2020. They just have different bindings for the keyboards.
Bet ya a £5 donation to your charity of choice that he’s talking about the rudder being mapped to yaw instead of the rudder axis so they’re acting like vertical flaps and locking in position.
Huh… I guess I’m overthinking it…
Yeah see, when talking to foreigners you not only have to speak slower so they can understand you but you also need to think slower so you can understand them.
only joking. No really, it’s a joke. IT’S A JOKE!
As an IT consultant for a living… I can definitely relate to that.
