testing MSFS2024 the first time on my second PC, and get the Aileron and Elevator axis working, the controls feels soooooo much toooo sensitive.
I did a testflight in the DA40, which i also fly in real live and in MSFS, i need to move the elevator axis only a millimeter and have soo much reaction , same for the aileron.
I tried to lower the sensitivity, but still … a WAYYYYY tooooo much .
Its more not the sensitivity , it is more how much the Aircraft reacts of a little change in the Axis.
I had to readjust the joystick sensitivity especially for helicopters. Set deadzone to keep the extremes to about 1/2 of total.
But I totally agree about the way the aircraft are responding to very small deflections. They all seem very jumpy, with much less inertia which is completely unrealistic. And turbulence is extreme now.
Deadzone has no effect on spikes in the joystick signal. Its just the limit of how much signal can be sent to the sim when your joystick is at it’s limit of travel.
If you have a bad potentiometer in the stick you would see it, in MS2020 if you see the dot move erratically as you move the joystick when looking at the sensitivity adjustment in the sim.
FS2024 lacks that display feature entirely, so we can’t actually see the joystick response on the graph at all now. This is a big bug IMHO.
The whole Controls Settings System has a lot to be desired…personally I hate it. Still struggling to set up my Honeycomb setup, have given up at the moment.
Why they had to completely change the system baffles me, why they didn’t do the required additions and improvements to the 2020 iteration stumps the heck out of me.
Hello,
as say..i am in a Homecockpit, so i dont use the internal controls.
But i remember when 2020 comes out, it was the same.
Controls was here also a way too sensitive. Also the Aircraft behavior in Air is a bit to sensitive.
Then i ask for a better control over the additional Windows to be able to better set them up for Homecockpit user, but nothing changed.
Now, the first thing i had a look are also there…but again nothing changed.
Thats a bit annoying !!
@Jorg … i dont know why your Team is mostly not listen to us ?
I have way too much response when I barely touch the pedal. I find helicopters (without assistance of course) currently unusable. Some planes are unusable too as you slalom the runway.
@BroughtSinger97 It was on my first tests of the career mode. When I hit the right button of my TCA to switch from cabin view to external view (as I had it configured in MSFS 2020), the plane moved hard as it was hit by a strong wind. Soon I discovered that the reason was the small (really very small) vibration I was creating just by clicking the button. Then I entered the TCA config and increased the neutral zone a bit, then the problem dissapeared.
I only have 2020 experience, and this issue has been there from the start.
The only plane I’ve flown so far that didn’t require extreme adjustments of the controller sensitivity, is the Comanche.
What controllers are MS/Asobo using in development?
Everyone is complaining, why haven’t they adjusted the default sensitivities yet? Come on, this has to be one of the easiest bugs to fix.
Yes, i still have that Problem in MSFS2020 but i expect MS/Asobo learns from that and changed it in MSFS2024, but nothing.
Again exactly the same. A Jetliner feels like a very little “paper flyer”
