Can anyone let me know how to do this. A friend of mine has just upgraded (PC and all) from FS9 to MSFS2020. He did it to surprise us but bought the DVD version. Consequently, he needs to insert Disc 1 all the time! This frustrates him but I said I’d check to see whether there is a way to convert to a Digital License.
Any help appreciated!
I may be guessing here. But shouldn’t the DVD version be “activated” into your Microsoft Account the first time?

Thanks for the answers and workaround but what I’m really after is - is there a pathway/method/upgrade to convert from the DVD version to the Digital version?
Make an iso of dvd one and load/ mount it into a virtual drive

Yep, that’s the only way to do it… apart from paying for a digital version.
The “insert disc 1” message is well documented on this & other forums. It’s a pity your friend didn’t know about it.
