Hey everyone! Is it me or night lighting is extremely exaggerated in 2024? In 2020 it was kinda too pitch dark in cities, particularly airports. Now airports are a little more illuminated (but not that much, lights are still needed, specially at the gate zone).
However, cities and horizon are extremely exaggerated and very unreal. This is at FL150. Conditions are clear sky, and there isn’t very much going on. The closest city seen in the screenshot is about 20nm and the farthest one is about 70nm. There isn’t a super moon anywhere, there is moon but… check the ground, even the complete unlit and uninhabited places are “lit” from an unknown light. The plane is apparently lit by an unknown light source, and the cities look extremely lit. These are small to mid cities, it’s not NY, it’s La Plata and Buenos Aires.
The drawing distance is correct, they should be seen from this height, it’s not the distance but the intensity, which is completely unreal.
Have you noticed something similar? I’ve seen several comments, but don’t even know if this is a bug, or if this is the expected behaviour (I guess to atract newcomers to all flying conditions?)
Thanks!
Seb
