You gain nothing from doing that. zero advantage

Donāt you have to have this line empty along with flight number for AI to spawn?
Also if you donāt want plane parking in Cargo you remove that line. Does Turkish airlines haul Cargo?
I use this..maybe you do already and then i just paste a shortcut in the aircraft folder copy the layout and paste over the shortcut and it updates the layoutā¦

Finnish?..Excellant
Can you show us what your full [fltsim] looks like?
I have never seen these fallback lines.
Also..is Model.main always [fltsim.0]?
So I can have 20 fltsim in a folder as long as I have 20 different model.AIxxxx in the plane folder?
One more question: Some planes folders just have a texture folder and an aircraft.cfg. For them to spawn correctly as AI do I need to add to the folder?
Sorry for all the questions but we are doing Asobo job hereā¦lol.
I am very confused about what the layout.json does? I tried to follow the youtube video C0rsten posted but couldnāt follow.
Yes, you need to add an AI folder with the AI model.cfg inside.
I practically have to restructure my entire livery library to standardise the structure and to make sure itās available with AI model, correct ICAO and callsigns. The only thing I took from the original author/designer is only the Texture folder. Sometimes even the textures themselves need to be fixed if there are some mapping, or normal texture issues.
Even the thumbnails, I designed myself using Paint 3D so that every livery has the same style, and not like the default thumbnail generator thatās difficult to see.
The Layout.json file is basically the file that tells the Sim, which files and folders to read. Without this, the sim will ignore the file thatās not listed inside the layout.json file. So you will have missing liveries, or some mods not loading.
These fallback lines are only for the texture.cfg and have nothing to do with the aircraft.cfg
You can have 20 active FLTSIM for the AI in one aircraft.cfg if you have 20 different model folder.
EDIT: Iām currently working on an IVAO 737 with 368 FLTSIM. Now THAT is fun. I need a break after 20 FLTSIM because my brain starts to bail out.
You can copy the layout.json from the Asobos A320 folder and put that in your aircraft folder ( the folder with the texture aircraft cfg and sound etc) and then use the MSFS layout generator to update as you go along. I keep a copy of sound folder .. a layout json and the layout generator shortcut on my desktop and drag it over and pop them in my folder
My two cents @kevnich
Yeapp.. thatās exactly what I did..
So it does not have a Model.main, but it has a [fltsim.0] . So I make a Model.AIxxx folder and do [fltsim.1] with title AI right?
On json thanks. So I just put the layoutgenerator in a folder that has a json, run the generator and then drag the json on to the command box?
Yes, but you will need to rename the AI titled [FLTSIM.1] into [FLTSIM.0]
āYou can have 20 active FLTSIM for the AI in one aircraft.cfg if you have 20 different model folderā
Is that method that you use? Not liverypack (own package in community folder? Basicly If a330 is handling all the heavy ai traffic, 20 liveries isnt enough.
You can put the layout generator program which i believe is two directories) (i put it in the bottom of MSFS) and then paste a shortcut copy in each aircraft folder and then right click on layout json and copy and paste to the shortcut and you will see a black window for a sec) and youāre doneā¦
My 1 1/2 cents worth @kevnich
The 2 kb exe shortcut..you can have on your desktop and then just drag it over and plop
I have the normal livery folders for the player A330. I use texture folder with fallback lines for the AI versions (other ICAO designator).
Thatās how my āAIā folder looks like.
So the generator can be anywhere on your PC. You just copy wichever json file you want updated and literally paste it on the .exe? I donāt even need to run it first.
I tried that and got the black window for a sec. Did I do it correctly?
yea..if the window opens and closes..it works..if it doesnāt it will tell you its on an inaccessible directory or drive..Then you will need to relocate the program..otherwisen you are good to go.. You can open the layout with notepad or notepad++⦠and you will see thats say you added a sound folder etcā¦is inside the layout json now whereas it would not have been there before or anything else you do to the aircraft folder..always update anything you do..
