Corsair One i300

I am thinking of buyng this beautiful small desktop. Any one got this? Is it worth it?

Topic moved from General Discussion.

Does anyone have this PC?

Well it all depends on what it will cost you. It is far from a top notch system. RTX 3080 and Intel 12900K are both old news.
If I go by the price that is currently asked for on amazon.de (4.099,-) I would never consider or recommend buying it. For that kind of money you can easily get something much better. And beauty would be farther down on my list as well.

For 4100,- EUR you can build a very good system with an AMD Ryzen 7950X3D (about 700,-) and a RTX 4090 (from 1.600,-) as well as 64GB Ram (about 200,-) decent motherboard (250,-), decent 1000W PSU (from 200,-) and a 4TB NVMe (from 200,-). Last thing you need is a case. Those are available between 100,- and 1000,- depending on your needs. But normally a good 200,- - 250,- EUR case will last you for a while. Throw in a good cooler for your CPU and a few fans (in case none come with the case) and you’re all set with a far far superior system for less money.

Now you just need someone to put the parts together, which isn’t that difficult to do yourself. Most of it is plug- and play.

Hi Archer374, So you thing that the Corsair One i300 will not run MSFS sufficently? As I will NEVER biuld a PC myself (I am not good at biludong pcs) I want to buy the SMALLEST ready bult PC. Can you then recommend another PC? Money is no problem for me.

Look at this review: This is by FAR my favorite Pre-Built PC ever made... BUT... can it stay cool?? - YouTube

The Corsair One i300 will run MSFS sufficiently … HOWEVER with the components used it is much too expensive today. That video is over a year old, and one year ago that PC would have been ok, but in terms of PC components this PC is - well not exactly old, but dated and a whole new generation of components are available today for less money than the ones in the i300 a year ago. That’s partly because of progress and partly because a year ago components were ridiculously expensive due to high demand and low supply.

That situation has changed a lot and so today you can get a far far better PC for the same or even less money.
Just one example:

Even though this system isn’t as hot as the one listed above, the components used in this rig are better suited for MSFS, more modern, and - as you can see - significantly cheaper than the Corsair One i300.

So since you don’t want to build a rig yourself, depending on your infrastructure at home I suggest you either contact an internet based computer company like CSL or check somewhere in your area for a computer shop to build you something.

According to most of the stuff I have read (and tried out myself) I definitely would recommend using the following components as minimum:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 7800X3D / 7900X3d / 7950X3D (any of those but make sure it’s an X3D and not just an X! Currently the AMD Ryzen X3D are superior to Intel in MSFS due to they additional 3D Cache.)
  • NVidia RTX 4070Ti / 4080 / 4090 (don’t get anything with a 3 in front anymore. They are not that much cheaper at the moment and significantly inferior)
  • There are also good AMD Radeon graphics cards, but I have no experience with those.
  • 32 GB RAM
  • NVMe (2TB+ recommended especially if you use addons and mods)

The rest is a question of taste and money

Thanks for your infonformation. The one one you suggested looks fine but it is much bigger thatn the Corsair One. As I told you I do want the smallest available as I travel a lot and want to take my PC with me. I have a holiday home and I want to take it with me every time I go there and for this reason I bought two controllers (one at home and one at my holiday home) If you do know any small one like the Corsair please let me know. The dimensions of the CSL Sprint 5925 look much bigger than the Corsair One. Maybe I should wait or the new Corsair One. As long as I get more than 30fps with the MSFS then I am OK and I do beleive that with the Corsair One I will have no trouble with this.

Sorry. I hadn’t focussed on the size issue
But I’m sure if you contact CSL they may be able to offer you something a little smaller. The problem with gaming PCs is always heat, and the graphics cards are really huge. So this Corsair One is custom built with a custom motherboard and probably even a custom graphics card. That would make it almost impossible to upgrade it later.

If it’s worth the price for you than go for it. The Corsair will do an adequate job, even though the Ryzen X3D are currently unbeatable with MSFS. I just wanted to make sure knew what you are getting yourself into.

One alternative I just found would like to show you:
this one will still be bigger that the Corsair I believe (although I couldn’t find any dimensions for it on the Corsair homepage).

This system is very close to top-notch and less costly. I’m sure there’s more out there.

I don’t recommend you get a PC with a non standard form factor. If you must buy yourself a PC get one that’s build from standard off the shelf parts and the biggest case you can stomach. Stores like Microcenter in the US will even build it for you, When you need to upgrade it could be just a few parts to swap out. For example I upgraded my CPU and GPU (4090) and it only took about 30 minutes. Many of the specialty PCs will have you stuck with parts and horrible cooling. You will end up buying a whole new PC vs just upgrading parts.

The size of the Corsair One is: 20 x 17.25 x 38 cm; 7.38 Kilograms

Rattman as I said I wanted the smallest PC I can get and the dimensions of the Corsair One is: 20 x 17.25 x 38 cm; 7.38 Kilograms

If the size is your premier issue, whether it will run MSFS the secondary issue and ALL other criteria (price, upgradability, age of components etc.) are close to irrelevant then this Corsair may be the right solution for you. BTW weight shouldn’t vary much. My computer only weighs a little over 8 kg. That’s not a difference you’ll notive carrying it.

Maybe you could use this as an intermediary solution then. Currently there’s a lot going on in the mini ITX segment, but I haven’t come across a commerically available solution that would fit your size requirements.

But judging from this video:

the solution may come in the future.

Another option could be a gaming laptop. Often the graphics cars are not as powerful as in desktops with similar specs due to cooling but it’s also an intersting option, and still cheaper (and smaller and lighter) than the Corsair:

Do you think it will not run MSFS? Anyway let me also look into Gaming laptots

No I meant it’s your second most important issue. No worries. It will run MSFS well enough

Have thought about gaming laptops too, but there a Notebook 4090 is about as fast a regular 3080, so it’s also a quit expensive option, though very small and light

What about this one? Laptop LENOVO Legion Pro 5 16IRX8 82WK00AQCY onyx grey | Stephanis

I’m not a big fan of Lenovo. Also the graphics card is less powerful that the one from the Corsair. In a laptop you need at least a 4080 better a 4090.

My favourite would probably be a Asus Rog Strix Scar 17 (2023).

Thanks for the link. Unfortunatly its not available at Amazon

It seems fairly new. Probably not available YET
