This might be a total shot in the dark, but I have noticed that in %localappdata%\CrashDumps I have seen dumps created for Stream Deck at the same time as it is generated for MSFS.
I have had it disconnected today, and not had a CTD so far.
I was not interacting with the Stream Deck when I had a CTD, so I am really not sure it is related. I just wanted to check if anyone else have seen similar things.
nope⊠itâs running allways and I still have zero CTD. But of course I not have enabled such âbest-ofâ plugins to show e.g. the cpu-load or something else. These plugins itself are mini-applications and do stuff what nobody exactly know ( you see it only in strange cpu loads ).
But in case there crash in parallel many applications, can point to a bigger issue like not sufficent memory, or something else ( e.g. usb ** stuff )
PS.: such âquestions about experianceâ would be better placed in blue category
I donât know about crashes specifically, but mine has recently started lagging when buttons are pressed. These are simply keyboard presses, but it can sometimes take 3 seconds for a response from the sim. Other times characters repeat, and it will also randomly disconnect, then not restart properly so it only shows the Elgato logo.
Itâs possible those USB disconnects are triggering crashes, as that is still an issue for me as well. If I disconnect or restart my USB speakers the sim will crash, more often than not.
I think a Stream Deck firmware update may have resolved this. Though I do notice that the key sequence I use to bring up the ATC menu, CTRL+ALT+HOME now has some bounce to it. When that button is pressed it will sometimes get pressed twice, but I see the keyboard sequence does this as well so likely a new sim defect. Iâll just find another sequence to use instead.
StreamDeck is wonking out my FS2020 keybinds to the point where I had to exit it. Alt-Tabbing to the Windows 10 desktop showed the task bar rapidly rifling through all of the open windows, essentially freezing FS and the ability to select anything.
So I closed everything out via task manager and tried it all again, but this time with notepad open. When this problem started up again I checked notepad and it was as if the âwâ was stuck on.
Anyway, closing out StreamDeck fixed everything, which sucks. Was hoping someone had a fix for it.
I had several CTDâs the last weeks now I narrowed it down to stream deck and/or discord and/or trackIR. Streamdeck seems mostly possible as I did not have any CTDâs now for the last 2 long flights (more than 1 hour), by disconnecting the hardware (!) - the streamdeck.
Moreover the stream deck keeps shooting .net framework error messages while connected ⊠this is the only hardware/software which does it while the msfs is running
Any experiences since then? any thoughts?
I have still no issues with usage of steam deck. Some hints: update steam deck software / firmware, dont use fancy add-ons, use a powered usb hub.
