What I have done to come around these limitations:
I have a little 10" android touchpad and I run TouchPortal (payware 14€) with the Wasimodule on it. I can assign every simulator event with it, by pressing a virtual key on it.
I have a Master caution Button on it that calls for a simevent that triggers the Master caution warning button.
