Crash after two hours of flight

No

Brief description of the issue:

During an IFR flight from KBUF to KLAS, after about two(ish) hours of flight. The frame rate started dropping (from about 24 fps @ 7680 x 1440, RTX2070 Super). It would recover and then fall to 5-8 fps with increasing frequency. As I approached KDEN it got worse and worse… eventually limping along at 2-3 fps. It finally crashed completely.

This was something new to me (first flight after the SU9 patch). I hadn’t had any CTDs since all the fixes in SU5 or 6.

Hi there,

I have the same issue. Did you manage to get this resolved?

Thanks.

No… but I haven’t done a long flight, since. It did CTD once this past weekend (though not with the extreme loss of frame-rate before-hand). I wasn’t in the middle of anything, so I just restarted the sim and carried on.

No

Brief description of the issue:

When starting from “cold and dark” some 15 minutes into the flight all systems shut down (going to “cold and dark” again in midflight). This doesn’t happen when I start “Cleared for Takeoff” on the runway. I follow the startup checklists but I wonder if there is an item missing in the checklists, or if I’m doing anything wrong or if this is a system issue. Thanks for any hints

By cold and dark you obviously mean engines are off too? Batteries are off etc???

Rather than just black Avionics. That’s a different issue that some people still experience.

That’s correct. The overhead panel is dead, avionics are black, and the engines are winding down (judging from the sound of it anyway). I’m suddenly left with a giant glider, which makes for some interesting flying, especially when you have to go through a cloud layer, but that’s not how it should be. Thanks for your interest, by the way

Apologies if obvious. Did you turn on the Generators?
Could it be the batteries running out of power.
YouTuber “fishtakes” does an excellent cold and dark start-up tutorial for the stock A320 (simplified version).

Otherwise it’s a new one on me.

I used to get black avionics, that was on Xbox and hasn’t happened for month’s.

Hope it gets sorted for you.

i would have guessed the same , batteries running out …

The overhead panel is dead, avionics are black, and the engines are winding down

I would say that generators too. I don’t know a320 but crj if you will not set gens on auto and start engines with APU and then shut APU you may not finish departure when you run out of battery. But CAS is crying before anything is going dark. My other idea as you said that you lost engines too. If it will be only battery engines could be still running. I would say have you done fuel check before on transition to cruise ? Other hand before anything would happen you will have plenty of warnings unless is default a320 so probably is not modeled properly.

Thank you all. It was indeed my fault. Why I failed to turn on the generators for 3 flights in a row while following the checklist is beyond my comprehension, but that’s what must have happened. After your comments I paid particular attention to that and the flight went through without a problem. I just wonder why there were no warnings in the cockpit regarding batteries running low, but as darth0dan mentioned, it is the default A320 and maybe their modeling doesn’t go into such details, assuming most people are not as dumb as I am. Either way, I learned a lot, thank you all again for your help, and happy flying.

Hi,

I had similar CTD error by Kernel adter 4h flight.

I7-10700, 32GB RAM, RTX3080, no CTDs before SU9, during Ocean inboud, only FSUIPC installed.

having same crash
