Crash on startup (Keep crashing to desktop when XBOX logo appears)

My computer spec:
Intel(R) Core™ i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz
16GB Ram
GTX 970

When I first start MSFS, it ables to install update (I install the whole game on D drive and main installer on C Drive) and after that I was able to fly it. After I kill the app and restart it again, it never works again. Everytime I launch MSFS while XBOX logo load up, it keeps crashing to desktop. And I’ve found the following error messages from Event Viewer.

have you already tried the -FastLaunch option ?

And, or have you any kind of video-codec installed ( e.g… ff_*lib’s )?

HowTo FastLauch for Ms-Store users:

Thanks for the reply. I’ve just tried it but after few seconds, it crashed to desktop again :frowning:

When I open it up, this message always appears. But my MSFS is freshly installed. I haven’t install any third parties add-on yet. And no matter I choose Safe mode or Normal Mode, It keeps creashing after few seconds.

And I’m sure my windows and graphic cards drivers are up to date

Topic moved into Community Support.

The Bug Reporting category is for confirmed bugs that can be replicated by others using the provided template.

you get these message each time in case you had former a crash ( the game simple creates a lock file, and if that exist the game “know” that there was a crash  ).

At least it seems -FastLaunch fixed the first issue you had.

It would be intressting what the new Message from Windows Event log is.
And , did you come already into the Main Menu now ?

And… had you ever had installed MSFS ?

No, I haven’t. This is my first time for MSFS installation.
And the problem is still existed. I can’t get into the main menu

Errors are still the same

hmmm… I no longer see the mp4 file mentioned within the new log , so FastLaunch seems helped here, that I meant  ( but it show us also, that somewhat is not ok with your system if your windows can not play that mp4 file ).

On other side there a many other reasons possible… As example: have you checked the windows virtual memory setting ( e.g. set to a fixed value min : 8gig max >25gig ? ).

May be a test with limiting the fps to a very low value ( e.g 25 ) might also be usefull.

Possible might be also a corrupt file in AppData, If I read “After I kill the app and restart it again,…” … You can try to try to clean rolling-cache file, scenery-index, context.xml.

Also ensure the other usually things like disable antiv-vir solution for test-case , also all other running applications, check for conflicting applications ( FAQ ) ( and I assume you have nothing with ‘VR’ installed ), In special Sound-Drivers cause often trouble ( e.g. stop nahimic service, remove asus sound-tools, update sound-drivers ), relogin in xbox, etc…

and… these D: drive… which filesystem is it - ntfs ?

Have you updated your graphics card driver? If yes, please return to the old program.
