In the bug fix log I noticed that it says 'Crash to desktop without error message". I’m hoping the solution for now isn’t just tgoing to be ‘Crash to desktop with error message’ ![]()
i play 6 hours every day and have not crashed to the start page in the last 3 weeks since i play with this setting. online functionality on. bing world graphics data on. image measurement on. live flight operator data off live weather off multiplayer off. rolling cache, off. text to language settings for air traffic control offline. pilot avatar standart co pilot avatar standart. and I’ve set everything in the traffic category to off and everything to 0. now it’s a very lonely world xD landmarks mark cities mark airfield mark I have everything off. The game runs very well now and has no more problems
Now you need to add every single one back in one at a time at six week intervals. ![]()
“More will follow” = “Your game will still crash, wait for the next update and maybe some day it will be ok” ![]()
Just had another CTD with the new update, literally my first flight after updating. Apart from the ATC altitude bug, absolutely nothing seems to be fixed, and with the game now being unplayable at night, it makes me wonder what the point of this ‘update’ was.
Honestly, my patience is wearing thing and I am starting to slowly lose interest in this game.
What on earth are they doing over there at Asobo?
What do you mean unplayable at night, not tested this update myself yet.
I know one improvement was cities at night more visible from distance, is this the case on xbox as well?
Check out this thread: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/bug-logged-wu6-and-night-lighting-broken/449843/126
It’s not just a “oh, that doesn’t look very good”, it’s a “I can’t see where I’m going and I feel sick” kind of problem.
Nighttime textures are shot on XBox (X in my case). They render basic and dark with non of the nice graphics that we have seen recently. Panning around the camera and you can see some evidence of old textures appear at top of screen but not in a good way. My local airport texture EGPF looked very basic, blocky, poorly lit etc. Evidence of lack of testing before rolling updates out. Daytime looks fine. No method of modifying graphics (no sliders etc) on XBox.
The video here shows the issue I see on my series X with nighttime textures-
Just tested with a long flight, which I would have been happy to complete if it worked. It didn’t: merely 35 minutes into the flight the sim Crashed To Dashboard all the same.
This is unplayable in this state, the whole point of a flight simulator is to do flights. It cannot be done right now.
The last couple days i’ve been dialling the density sliders back bit by bit to try and gain something in effect to a smoother experience and now with this update, still rubbish framerates and certainly no performance increases nor even the hint of better all round stability. Why the hell can’t Asobo admit that their ambitions are outweighed by their capabilities? Reach out for some help or something for god sake.
More and more evidence of a project that started off in an absolute mess and has pretty much stayed that way. Many PC users have had problems that continue to this day. Really sad as this is what the current gaming industry looks like today and has done from at least the entirety of the last console generation.
I just wish they would beta test updates better. I mean the first night flight on takeoff and nighttime graphics are shot. There should be a basic test matrix of beta testing scenarios to run through before hitting ‘publish’. Floating lights on PC version with ‘workarounds’. I mean this isn’t a professional approach for commercial software releases.
It’s funny how CD Projekt Red were compared to Bethesda after the release of Cyberpunk, I’m not gonna lie, the resemblance was uncanny and they deserved it. This can be applied here also, Asobo look like they are trying to go too big too fast and are letting professionalism be thrown out the window. A series of little things perfected will go a long way here. I honestly think WU7 should be suspended indefinitely and have basically have the rest of this year be a series fixes to finally get on top of this.
I tested the same flight with the Boeing 747 and it crashes all the same. This time it was around 45-50 minutes into the flight. Unplayable.
I take it you did the premium and deluxe upgrades that were there last night too. They wern’t obvious to me that they were there to begin with and they did contain some plane patches. No docs I could find to say what was patched though.
Yes, I updated all content in the content manager.
With the extremely frequent world map issue is there an option to reduce the graphical load? Like turn off the satellite data and just have what used to be the default on PC? (a basic grey background I think it was)
This might at least help in fault finding (rather than being a fix)
It’s a shame that you still crashed I flew over the mountains of Switzerland yesterday I looked at the new buildings in Germany and I made 2 flights of 2 hours and everything was good for me had no problems except for the defects night lighting. I also uninstalled a few add ons that don’t work properly on the xbox. I had the feeling that the game runs better now, maybe imagination I don’t know, I hope that the reason for your crash will be found quickly so that you can enjoy the game
Have Asobo gave any more updates on the night lighting issue, I see they are aware and that the render scale is the cause and dialing it back is a temp fix, but that doesn’t help xbox users.
I hope they fix this asap.
Also not played enough to test but have the crashes to dash been fixed on xbox?
I’ve only been doing short flights so far due to this, even then I got the occasional crash, post new update.
