Description of the issue:
Msfs Crashes at loading screen right after update.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
I don`t have community content

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?
DX11 (can´t reach to the game though)

GeForce RTX4080 latest driver. 572.42

Uninstall Nvidia app and restart PC.
Launch MSFS 2020

Seems this is somewhere near the solution. It changed the behaviour, now I can see only blank screen.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes CTD after the update screen, but I get to 58% before the crash

• I have tried alot of trouble shooting to fix this, I have removed all 3rd party content, removed Scenery Indexes, remove all Nvidia GL and DXcache contents, Disk Cleanup was done to Direct X files. Restarted in Safe Mode but no change in results

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• using three peripherals, TM Hottas one, Loupedeck, Tobi Eye tracker.
System: I9 12900k, 4090, 32GB Ram, (2) 2TB SSDs. The last thing I did in the Sim was adjust a Camera setting assigned to F12, deleted F12 Liveries menu assignment, as well F12 changed all my graphic settings, and the CTDs began

I´ve reinstalled windows, reinstalled MSFS several times, it just doesn’t work. Hopefully there will be another version that works. I guess there is a diference if installing on D: instead of C: perhaps.

not sure what is going on with the Sim myself, this just happen today for me. MSFS support has contacted me and I too did a total reinstall of all files, disabling all add-ons and still crashing 55-58% loading bar before a CTD. I have just sent over the DxDiag file and Msinfo file, hopefully they can come up with something that can fix this. never had it this bad before.

If you added a DxDiag file to your support ticket, then why didn’t you attach it here as well? I hope you don’t think we have crystal balls.

Well last night I tried removing the Nvidia app and that solve the issue. So far so good. Still would like to see would Microsoft is saying a bout the issue, are they aware?. But I’m sure this might not be happening to everyone. Thanks TenPatrol.

This is not the main thread for reporting CTDs. Please describe your exact issue in detail and include your PC configuration so we can better assist you.

Now it worked, I applied the recommendation from TenPatrol again. Removed the NvidiaApp

It worked for me as well… Just tried it and sim working fine

Its was recently told to me by support that you may (by choice) redownload the app then:

Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Nvidia

Then delete the “NGX”folder

Afterward Reboot your PC

Can we not mark this as resolved, please? Uninstalling a critical app to keep drivers up to date is not a solution. A major crashing bug completely preventing app startup isn’t resolved because you can give your computer a minor lobotomy to fix it.

Removing nvida app also worked for me.

Makes sense. This is should be interim solution not the final one.

Critical app? Nvidia app is not required to update driver.
You can check directly on Nvidia website for any available updates.
If uninstalling Nvidia app helped @LuizC3 he have the right to mark it as a solution.
It seems like you are confusing “solution” with “fixed” – even though the problem is resolved, we are still waiting for a final fix.

Until Nvidia fixes the application, please check what happens if you select DX12 instead of DX11 by manually editing cfg file.

To do this, you need to edit usercfg.opt file and modify the line
PreferD3D12 0

and save the changes.

With latest Nvidia driver, Nvidia app and DX12 selected in MSFS 2020 a CTD won’t occur.

However, with DX11 selected in MSFS 2020, using the same latest Nvidia driver and Nvidia app, a CTD will occur.
