Did some experimenting and a ram paging file brings no extra performance and everything is just as smooth since the beta. The 5gb it consumes can be better used elsewhere so I have now placed a 10gb page file on a SSD that I only use for storage. It’s not Windows managed but I’ll cross that bridge should I ever have to.

Ok so the pagefile thing did not end up fixing my problem.
I ended up doing a reinstallation of Windows and now it’s actually fixed, no more stutters. Did two long flights today and no degradation to performance at all.
Not sure what was wrong with my OS before but my frametimes are no longer going crazy.

are you using windows 10 or 11?
I am using Win11 22H2. I can confirm all my stuttering is gone, having flown multiple legs now over two days, a few which were 5 hour flights.

me too, are you ising the release preview or the standard build?
Interestingly I bought a Razer 14 laptop with a 3070ti and it runs smoothly and without any stuttering. My main machine with specs above still runs like dog ■■■■, so I think when I get back from my holiday I will look to reinstall a fresh copy of windows and see how that goes. In the meantime I will play on my laptop.
