Yes, I would like to say thank you too :slightly_smiling_face:

You definitely have a talent for this and I especially like your ‘jag’ themed ones.

In fact, I created an account with flightsim.com just to download them :+1:t2:

Glad you liked it. I always and ry and match the interior to the real thing if I can find any photos of it.

Wow, this is making me wish I actually had the Baron. Lovely livery.

When updating the liveries I view each one in quick succession and found the Blacksquare Baron a much better flying experience than the Asobo default.

I just noticed the MSFS livery01 for the CJ4 has the visual effect to make the chromaflair purple to blue that is used in the brush lines on this Baron.

Asobo create unique 3d models for each livery. So just having a fade available on one livery does not make it easier to use a fade on a different livery.

The process I use to create liveries is to apply colour to the textures. The process Asobo use is to alter the 3d model to add extra parts that exactly shape the lines or curves they want to create. These extra parts have their own dedicated textures. So recolouring an existing decal set is very easy. Altering the 3d model to create a new decal set is beyond my abilities.

The process I can use to apply a fade is different to the process I use to apply curves. But I have thought about it and I think I could combine the 2 different processes I have available to create curves and fades.

It would be quite difficult, so would not be at the top my to-do list.

I am currently recovering from surgery and can’t manage to sit in front of a computer for the hours it takes to create or modify liveries. So it may be some time before I undertake any more livery work.

I hope you recover quickly! Sorry to hear.

It is possible, but you have to be adept with Blender. When I create liveries, I do it like you, but, some planes it’s difficult because, as you know, the models stretch weirdly (I’m saying this more for the benefit of others, I know you know all this), so there’s a lot of back and forth, and it’s not as easy as it used to be to reload textures. At least, I haven’t figured how to so easily reload textures as I edit them. I also have not taken the time to figure out how to use Blender, and then go from there to painting in Blender, and after that, how to create “decals”, which, in the videos I’ve seen, is pretty clunky. Maybe it’s gotten easier? I’ve tried to get started a couple of times, but I couldn’t get it to work.

It’s funny, when people first started asking about decals, Asobo just said “Well
get a license for 3DSMax”. Yeah right, spend I think $235/mo, or $1,875/yr for recreational freeware livery painting once in a while? I don’t think so. They did eventually create a native, SDK supported (kind of) app for it. I say kind of because it’s not finished yet I think, and it doesn’t keep up to the minute with the latest releases of Blender, and the Blender devs like to do things that break apps.

I watched all the YouTube videos on that process and while I was able to create a new 3d model, it always ended up with pink textures in MSFS. I put it in the “too hard basket” after that.

If you can upload this to marketplace for 4.99$ a lot of Xbox user will by the carbon livery.

Unfortunately setting up a marketplace account has tax implications here in australia. As I am retired, this would add a level of complexity to my finances that I would not want.

Asobo have really disadvantaged the XBox users, by not allowing them to have community folder access as we have on PC. I can’t believe that this is not technically possible. Alternately they could open up the Marketplace to allow free content from people like myself.

MSFS has been released on XBox for some time, so it is about time Asobo devoted some attention to XBox users. XBox users should be able to install something as basic as an addon livery without having to go through the Marketplace and pay for it.

I had originally wanted to go down the XBox path myself but am very glad I decided to spend the money and upgrade my PC instead.
