Hello,

As far as I know you can’t.
The AP backlighting is controlled by the “INTEG” knob on the center pedestal (backlighing for all central panels including AP).
But you still can’t see the AP buttons themselves when it’s dark outside. My work-around is to switch on the dome light. Not pretty, but it works. Most of the time during cruise you don’t need to press AP buttons anyways, so dome light can be switched off again and you can resume star gazing
There are not many YouTube videos out there with this plane at night, but the CRJ autopilot panel looks illuminated normal and flawless even with the main instrument panel background flood light off or completely dimmed:
Is the illumination not bright enough or do you don´t know where the turning knob is? Well in one video I saw where the YouTuber turned on the cockpit lights and I made a screenshot for you.
Hmm what a beautyful grey bird, reminds me of my F-18 Hornet!
Love that T-Tail and back mounted engine nacelles design that looks so much better than the common under the wings engines. Strange she had her maiden flight on May the 10th 1991 but with these T-Tail and winglets and back mounted engines she looks so fantastic eighties retro-future like my other favorite the MD-80 Maddog (which I really hope is getting released on Flight Sim 20 because that is one of the best planes ever created!).
Would be awesome to fly maybe there will be an Aerosoft Christmas sale or even better a functioning weather radar finally implemented
Okay I have found it, I don´t have this plane yet because I wanted to wait for bugfixes and weather radar implementation before buying, but I can see that the YouTuber is turning these knobs to control the cockpit brightness:
The crj is my first attempt with jets (other the the mig 21 in dcs). Been only flying GA until now. My wishlist has only vintage aircraft in it: The md80, tu 134 and the 737 200. So I wanted to start with something a little bit more complex than the piper arrow until they come out.
Though I won’t mind trying the pmdg 737…
