Cruising altitude won't enter in the MCDU on the A32nx

Hello,

I am getting this “Format Error” message when trying to enter in my Cruising Altitude (20000ft) in the MCDU. I also tried “FL200” but no luck.

Can anyone explain why it will not let me enter in the Cruising Altitude!

Here’s a picture taken of the issue:

Are you using the A320NX mod? Did you try “200” or “20000”?

I tried to enter all formats in!

I tried “FL200”, “200” and “20000” but no joy!

Yep, I am using the A320NX Mod.

Which version of the mod are you using?

The Developer Build. Not the Stable Version.

Are you able to insert higher crz alts (310 and above)?

BTW: numbers like “200” should work (if it there’s no issue). You don’t need “FL” oder “20000”.

Nope. I can only enter “2” on the MCDU as in 2ft!

Strange. Only the number 2? No other numbers?

This could be a conflict with another mod or a custom livery. So try to remove all other mods or custom liveries from your community folder (temporarily). And try again. Also there could be a problem with your keybindings interfering with something,

At the time, I was using the NEO house colours. Every time I entered in a number, on the MCDU it just displays “Format Error”.

I tried to switch off the Electrics and restarted it on the plane to see if that helped, but nope!

I can enter the temperature. But the CRZ ALT, it will not allow me to enter anything apart from “2”

I didn’t even use the keyboard. All done by my mouse!

But you can insert any other configs in the MCDU without any problem?

And: you only insert the crz alt, you don’t try to insert any temp in this field (this is not quiet working right now)?

(btw: you should use the MCDU keypad, that’s ok. Still there could be some keybinding issues.)

I’ve been using the keypad. Every other field on the MCDU is fine. I can enter in other details however the CRZ ALT won’t take in anything apart from the number “2” as if I am cruising at 2ft"

Where it says CRZ ALT/TEMP, I can only enter in the Temperature portion in the same field starting with “/” on the keypad.

But you don’t need to enter the temp. At least, I never need to… See here:

I tried to enter both the Cruising Altitude with the temp and the Cruising Altitude without the temp,

No luck!

How do you plan your flight and get it into the MCDU? Do you use simbrief import or MSFS world map?

Neither.

I create a plan entirely on the MCDU using the INIT page, entering the □□□□/□□□□ at the top right of the screen!

I have never encounter this weird problem with any of the developer version. Perhaps its conflict with other mod (e.g. liveries)? If you have removed all other mods/add-ons except A320NX mod and this problem persist, you might want to talk to the mod guys on their discord.

Are you entering ‘200’ via the keypad or by pressing numbers on your keyboard?

I could try to remove some other addons

I was trying to add “20000” via the Keypad on the MCDU

I wonder if it has something to do with the UTF-8 thingy… That you have to activate in your windows language and region settings?
