As mentioned above I’ve decided for a new install of MSFS. I uninstalled the sim, go for every achievable update of WIN11, NVIDIA etc. and then go for a fresh install of MSFS.
I could see that the file and folder structure is no longer the same as before. It seems after 12 Updates it was a good decision to go for a fresh install. It was quite long to load but now I’m back again with a stable and fast Sim.
It helps me but anyway no guaranty that this is the solution for you all.
I assume you lose all your bush trip saves and any loged flight hours, yes?
All missions, bush trips, landing exercises are still there. Regarding logbook I have no idea because I don’t care on that (flying for a VA). But I suppose this will stored on a location that is not affected by the new installation process or it is stored in your MS Store account. I’m using this version of MSFS and not the steam version.
Yes I have the MS Store version too. I guess I will have to uninstall and reload as well. Hopefully the improvements on the sim will be worth it! Thanks!

Whats strange is this is a new PC (Right out the box)
Alienware Aurora R15 Pretty much maxed out:
64GB RAM
4090
i913900K
Win 11 Home
Fresh install on FS2020 (MS Store)
and loads about 2/3 of the way, then disappears
I sold my PC I built (Which ran FS2020 fine on, but I wanted something faster)
Im using the same MS STORE profile
I have done the app reset (Not uninstall) Which consequently made me download all 127GB again.
I’m usually posting my little findings on here to help people out, now I’m the stumped one.
Any help guys, I would be grateful
Thank you

I am sorry to say this, but it s the sad truth: It is a scandal, that the online-connection by microsoft is that often ureliable!
Hey guys,
The fix for my issue was a complete OS reinstall, then reinstall of the simulator.

Hello all together,
It worked with the DRIVER before 546.01. But then CALL OF DUTY Modern Warfare II Season 06 came out and YOU had to update to
546.01, 31.10.2023 (Does not work) to get COD running again.
I did just see a HOTFIX post 546.01 but that is only for Alan Awake II game.
So at the moment: a) Play COD b) Play FS 2020
As a IT-reseller who sold several special extreme (Each a larger car) GPU for Pharma and Biotech over years beside the hundereds of client which had NVIDIA from HP and as a ex. wholesaler CDROM who sold thousands of Microsoft games (XBOX/PC)
i am a little but ANGRY at the company who should drive us into the (AI /CHATGPT) future.
I understand how complex things are at this level but i thought we have standard and norms which should handle that?
I just reported the issue to NVIDIA. But i an not going to to do a DEBUG Crashdump from there driver again. I do that as business for corporates in Security and i don’t want to do same at home for my private life.
My Specs:
GTX 1070
MSI MB MS-7976, Z1700A Gaming M7
CPU I7-6700K, 4GHZ
32GB RAM
W11, 22H2, Latest 10/2023 Updates, US English, PRO
I just posted the below in another thread, but since my CTDs were almost always when in the flight loading screen, I thought I would repost it here as well:
I will add my vote to this being an issue that appeared with SU13. As suggested above, and as I had figured out after hours of testing, it seems to be a data processing/loading issue, either from the World Map or from the loading screen once you press “Fly” to start a flight.
I had resorted to a mental timer after selecting everything for a flight, switching my World Map to IFR instead of the default Satellite view, and then counting to 25-30 before pressing fly after I had selected everything. That usually resulted in a successful load and often a good flight. However, even with that, I sometimes had a CTD when switching to an external camera view and moving it around.
This occurred with an empty Community folder, no exe.xml file and a newly installed Flight Simulator install. I tried a suggestion about about changing the link connection speed from Auto to what my link speed actually is (1Gbps Full Duplex), and that made no difference (I didn’t try the 100Mbps setting). The only thing that seems to have helped is disabling Bing Data World Graphics, which also disables Photogrammetry,
I’m not happy with the solution, as I love flying around precisely because of the real-world view I get, but I had been about to leave MSFS off for a while (until SU14 comes out), as I had spent so much time testing things and reviewing crash reports and trying out different configurations, video drivers, memory and GPU stress tests, etc.
Anyway, I will leave it with Bing Data World Graphics off for now so that I can at least fly. Here’s hoping that Microsoft figure this out for SU14.
It crashes at the same point whether in normal mode or safe mode. The PC makes a continuous buzzing noise and the screen goes black. Nothing works after than except a hard power off.
Me again. I deleted all Flight Simulator folders using the guides provided here to remove previous installs.I updated my Radeon 6600 driver. I then ran the install from scratch upgraded to the latest available release on October 28.
The software still suffers a catastrophic failure and my computer turns off. Black screens/no signal/no response from mouse or keyboard.
Windows event viewer shows nothing about the crash except that the previous power off was unexpected.
AM I the only one getting a complete power off? This only started after that 1.33 update.
D
The crash is being caused by my Radeon 6600 graphics card. I uninstalled the driver and physically took it out the computer. The game loads and I was able to fly a plane briefly to test in safe mode.
I then closed and started the game again. This time it did not ask me about safe mode. I went back to the take off training missing and it crashed to desktop while the mission was loading. I restarted the game and selected normal mode. I choose a jet take off mission this time and once more it crashed to desktop.

New UPDATE.
While inside the game with the Intel 630 integrated graphics I set the system profile to Low. Resolution to 1280x800 and turn off AA, I put back in my Radeon and the game loaded. I was able to fly, I tried it twice and both times it worked.
So I set the resolution back to 2560x1440 and saved.
Boom!! Catastrophic crash. System dead!
---- Recommendation to Developers. Safemode should also reduce resolution to 1280x800 and set graphics to low end system.
Because now I have to go back into my system; remove the Radeon; turn on; load the game, change the resolution. shutdown, put back the Radeon… you know the drill. Safe mode would be so much more convenient.
So you say every driver before 546.01 worked perfectly without a CTD during loading?
If this is the case I will try it, because I almost went haywire yesterday searching why the hell my Sim crashes everytime
No the previous version was working. All before around 1-2 months for my enviroment not:
NO > GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL|546.01|October 31, 2023
YES > GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL|545.92|October 26, 2023
NO > GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL|545.84|October 17, 2023
NO > GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL|537.58|October 10, 2023

Some infos about the drivers:
This has been happening to me on and off since the sim first released. Many times the sim will CTD when attempting to load a flight. Incredibly fruisterating how this happens to MSFS and no other game I play.
However usually when attempting to load the EXACT SAME flight a couple more times it will eventually load into the sim. It makes no sense but at least it eventually works. Really sucks a lot of the joy out of the game having to jump through these hoops constantly.
Hope everyone else can find their own work around one day.

I have this exact same problem - after approx 2/3 loading it crashes approx 50% of the time. Oh and when zooming the map and in mid flight.
