you can find hints in already existing topics…
( pre-note: check windows pagefile setting )

Example search:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/search?q=memory%20could%20not%20be%20read

Also an example with different search keywords:

Its not memory - i have enough of that available and I’m using an 2080 Titan

you own 128GIG RAM and have a 16GIG pagefile too
( would be nice if you had mentioned this within the bug report )

But anyway… then you have to check the possible other causes which are mentioned within the topics… HAGS, DX12-beta, drivers, installed mods, just all like this…

I think intressing is the cleanup of AppData folders ( caches, indexes, dne,… )…
Lots of users report they fixed similar issue with reinstalling windows and I assume these means there are some “temp” files somewhere which have an effect:
e.g. CTD upon dev tools loaded during game startup - #11 by ReMiKU6956

And also of course the developer mode… lots of users use these dev-tool per default and who knows what this Developer Tool may cause for issues.

And I forgot… we should not forget the timeing factor. These can points to issues with hardware too ( e.g. overheat ).

I have tried them and still the same

I’ve been doing a few days of investigation and have found the cause of the CTD’s

Its the SHAPE file.

The only polygon in the SHAPE.BGL file is the polygon to define the outline of the airport and delete all the vegetation, builds etc.

With the file in the sim at a random time the error i posted above occurs. With the shape file not in the sim, i can sit for hours editing without an issue.

There is no problem running the sim with the SHAPE file included if I’m not editing. Devmod can be active so long as i dont edit a project (and the shape). Flying is not an issue, in and out of Dev Mode.

Issue occurs with SDK 17 & SDK 18

Rolled back 2 Nvidia drivers, tested and same as above.

There exist some of these shape.bgl files, in which package is your finding ?

Its one that i am creating for my own scenery.

ah… okay… this explain why nobody else can reproduce what you reported.

But then its better to discuss this somewhere here:

or at least mark it as a possible SDK thing… assumed your changes you made are correct.

Dont think anyone has tried - i only found the issue 15 mins ago!

yeah… if this is realy a SDK issue, may developers are intressted to hear about

I think, this topic is related to yours:

The same “The memory could not be read” …
