CTD After Flying About An Hour?

I am having issues with my MSFS crashing. My rig is Windows 10 13900K with a 4090 GPU. It seems after an hour or so of flying I just get a CTD. It doesn’t seem to matter what area or A/C. I spent today testing it and I was in NZ NA EU and got the same crash after a bit in all areas all with different planes…

I checked the logs prior and saw that it was a VCRuntime140.DLL error. I went ahead and updated my C++ Visual installs and the game seems slightly more stable.

It is still crashing however and now showing a Flightsimulator.exe as the faulty module causing the crash. It will usually stutter then CTD.

I cleared my rolling cache and increased the size as well. I am unsure what could be causing the issue? My system is not overclocked and all other games are stable. Its very frustrating as I like to do long hauls and 1-2 hours in I am just dumped back to the desktop…

Do you have Capture One photo editing software installed? Is so: One of the C1 dll’s causes CTD’s

I don’t. Never even heard of it.

I found another thread where that .DLL was fixed by a C++ Visual repair which I did. My last two crashes have just said that the MSFS.exe was the culprit.

First, I’m not a computer expert but here’s what I would do.

Run a Windows Memory Diagnostic (read up on memcheck) to make sure your memory doesn’t have a bad bit. Then run DISM followed by sfc. Lots of videos on YouTube on how these work. These will make sure you don’t have a computer or Windows problem. Last thought: any chance this is a computer overheating problem or a power supply giving out. Let us know if you figure it out.

OP I was experiencing the same issue awhile back. Turns out my graphics card was getting too hot. The fault was always reported as MSFS.exe. I ended up making a fan profile for my card that ramps up the speed of the fans while using MSFS 2020. I also open up the front door of my computer case while running the game for extra cooling. So far I have not had a CTD in almost 2 years. Check your GPU temps while MSFS 2020 is running. Also pull the side panel off your case just for testing purposes. I could be wrong here but it solved my issue. And it’s worth a try.

Today i have recorded 2 CTD.

I passed Memcheck already. I will look up DISM. No the PC is liquid cooled. I don’t have any other problems with any other games. I have several which are much more demanding than MSFS that run with zero issues. Brand new psu aswell.

My gpu never gets above 45C its liquid cooled. Thanks tho.
