ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Attempting to start MSFS 2024 SU3 Beta, MS Store Version. Window opens for the main UI, but only get black screen for about 2-3 seconds before crash. Tested with no addons.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta? No, I’ve had a few flights without issue. Started today. Only difference is I ran MSFS 2020 earlier. I’ve restarted too.

Yes, Yes.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start MSFS 2024 SU3 Beta
  2. Initial smaller window opens, then goes away to open the main UI
  3. Main UI loads with a black screen for 2-3 seconds then CTD

Windows 11 Pro all updates installed, i13900K, 4090 24Gb, 64 Gb DDR5 RAM, 3 NVMe drives

I had a somewhat similar issue. It turned out reinstalling Nvidia Driver did the trick, regardless what version of a driver it is. Worth trying.

Do you have external devices connected and loaded via tools like MobiFlight? I noticed, when I start the sim with Mobiflight von Winwing SimappPro running, the game crashes after loading

No I have none of that. I’ll try a driver reinstall and if that doesn’t work will reinstall SU3.

I did a re-install of SU3 beta and my start issue is resolved. I can start MSFS 2024 SU3 beta without issue.

Things I tried before re-install:

  • reboot
  • Nvidia driver changes, clean install, DDU too
  • MSFS cache clearing
  • temp file clearing
  • sfc scannow
  • checked for all latest updates for Windows

Same issue here. Oddly, if I just restart the sim – without doing anything – it almost always works. No rebooting, driver cleaning, temp file cleaning, or reinstalling anything. Just starting the sim again and it works.

Same issue here. Reverted back to SU2

Quest 3 and if SU3 beta installed, hit VT and ctd. remove SU3 beta and it is perfect. All AMD
