Regarding MSFS 2024, the installation process is a bit different. During installation, you won’t have the option to choose or change the location of the “Packages” folder. By default, everything is installed on the C drive in the XboxGames folder, so just install it there. MSFS 2024 itself is only around 9GB.
Before installing MSFS 2024, create a folder named “MSFS 2024” on drive E or any other drive/partition.
Then, install MSFS 2024 via the Xbox app in the default folder (C drive, XboxGames folder).
After launching MSFS 2024, click on Marketplace and then go to My Library. While in My Library, click on the cogwheel (the settings wheel).
Then, click on Browse and select the folder you created earlier, named MSFS 2024
Once selected, the following folders will be created inside it: Official2020, Official2024, Community and StreamedPackages.
These folders will be created after you save the changes and restart MSFS 2024.
Next, go to the Settings in MSFS 2024 and click Online.
In this section, you can change the size of the RollingCache file and its path. I changed the default folder path to my MSFS 2024 folder.
