Now, after going to VR, if I try and return to normal 2D the sim crashes to desktop. Once I am in VR I can’t leave without crashing the sim. I updated the OXR program and made sure Mixed Media is up to date.
I am using a Reverb G2 headset. WIN 10 and a RTX 2070 Super. CPU is a i10900 with 32 GB RAM on a ROG Maximus XII Formula MOB.
Me too when I paused a flight and tried to toggle back into 2D, instant CTD. But I I found a workaround that has solved it for me…..when in VR and you want end a flight stay in Vr and go back to the main menu in VR. Then you can toggle back to 2D while at the main menu. That works for me every time. I’m using the latest WMR and open Xr developer (preview mode on), no reprojection, on a G2 headset.
This is most likely an OpenXR issue. Version 108 (which is now stable, was the “beta” before) had this bug for quite some time now. That’s why most of the folks did not use the “use the latest preview” feature.
I’ve reset Windows to a pre-update state so that my OpenXR is version 107 and everything is fine again.
Unfortunately, there is no way to “officially” revert back to 107…
Not specific to SU7 either, people had that even pre SU6, the exact runtime version didn’t really have an influence on that either (it did on some other issues). The only way to avoid is “don’t do that, then” - exit VR first, then exit FS (does not always work tho).
