I had created a flightplan in Little NavMap from KAST (Astoria, OR) to KMCO (Orlando, FL) in the DC-6 with stops every 100-150 miles. I fly only in VR. All was great as I departed KAST and started my journey east. Flew one or two legs every day for several days and made my stop at KCGI ( Cape Girardeau, MO). The next leg was to take me to KPAH, (Paducah, KY). But shortly after take-off from KCGI, Bang!! CTD. Went back and tried several times to no avail. Running in Safe Mode made no difference. Then tried flights in different areas . . . Florida, North Carolina, Great Britain, Germany, France, every one would give me a CTD shortly after take-off. Nothing in community folder, running in safe mode, nothing worked. I then tried flying further west . . . OR, WA, ID, CA, HI – Not a single CTD!! Flew at least four hours in these areas (and Australia and Papua, New Guinea) with not one CTD. My main question is, when you run in Safe Mode, does that eliminate scenery purchased in the Marketplace? I ask because when the winter sale started, I purchased about ten add-on sceneries. I deleted four of them, but no help. I don’t want to delete them all if Safe Mode does it for you. I am at wits end and don’t have a clue as what to try next. I’m 84 years old and hope I have provided the information needed to get some help. Thanks in advance!!

If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the Community Support category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug Reporting category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.

Safe mode only stops community folder items from loading.

Can you fly from world map from kcgi but not using the saved flight?
It could be the saved flight causing the issues.
Delete the rolling cache also, it may help.

I do believe saved flights are still causing some issues also.

Success at last!!! After more than 12 hours of testing, I was finally able to determine the culprit! It seems there is a problem with running Open XR Toolkit App if you are running MSFS in DX12. After I determined Open XR Toolkit was the cause of all my CTDs, I uninstalled it and downloaded and installed the latest version. Still no luck! Back to the forums and found several people had CTDs if running DX12. So I switched back to DX11 and have flown multiple flights without a CTD. Put all my add-ons back and it still works just great. I’ll post again if the problem reappears. In the meantime, I’ll wait for a fix for DX12.

Great to hear.

For everyone a reminder.
DX12 is still in development for msfs. A good place to start troubleshooting is set to DX11.
It’s easy to overlook.

And somethings, the strangest combination of items, can cause issues
