CTD When Entering Route String in EFB (SU3 Beta 1.5.1.0)

Platform: Xbox Series X
Sim Version: SU3 Beta (1.5.1.0)
Aircraft: iniBuilds A320neo and A321LR
Location: LIRF (Rome Fiumicino) — parked at gate
Weather Setting: Live weather
Time Setting: Real-world time
Multiplayer: Single player
Third-party Content: None — all default
Photogrammetry & Live Traffic: Enabled
Crash Type: CTD (Crash to Desktop)
Reproducibility: Every time
Accessibility Settings: None relevant
Steps Taken to Troubleshoot: Restarted sim, restarted console

:red_exclamation_mark: Issue Description:

When using the in-sim EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) in the iniBuilds A320neo or A321LR to manually enter a route string, the simulator crashes to the dashboard immediately after pressing “Save” or “Enter.”

:white_check_mark: Expected Behavior:

The sim should parse the entered route string and build the flight plan in the EFB without causing a crash.

:repeat_button: Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load into a flight at LIRF with the iniBuilds A320neo or A321LR.
2. While parked at the gate, open the in-sim EFB.
3. Navigate to the “Enter Route String” function.
4. Enter a valid route string.
5. Press “Save” or “Enter.”
6. The sim crashes to the Xbox dashboard.

:test_tube: Notes:
• This behavior is 100% reproducible on the SU3 Beta 1.5.1.0 build.
• Occurs with both aircraft in the iniBuilds A320 series.
• Does not appear related to community content (none installed).
• Occurs specifically when using the route string input function. Other EFB functions have not been tested for similar behavior.

As of now, I have not yet tested whether this issue still occurs in the latest SU3 beta update (version 1.5.2.0). I will be testing it shortly and will provide an update once I’ve confirmed whether the bug persists.

I quickly checked it last night and it seemed to work ok in latest beta

I’ve just re-tested the issue in the latest SU3 beta update (version 1.5.2.0) using the iniBuilds A320neo.

After entering a route string into the in-sim EFB and pressing Enter, the sim froze briefly, then crashed to the dashboard — same behavior as in version 1.5.1.0.

This confirms the issue is still present and reproducible in 1.5.2.0.

And that’s what has been the annoying thing about this, console users if the code is the same should be experiencing relatively the same things. I hope they can address it.

Maybe I need to fully uninstall and reinstall again. I like using the route string feature because I use navigraph for the iniBuilds stuff and it’s good to match it in the in sim EFB

I literally only opened the EFB while loaded in with the A20N and opened the charts for the airport I was at. Haven’t had a chance to try a route or anything but the way I do it is actually using the web planner on my phone. I copy the route from simbrief and paste it into that along with my cruise altitude and save the flight. Then on the sim in the EFB I load the saved flight plan and send to ATC

Yeah that was going to be my next workaround. Because when entering the route string with the EFB it CTD’s. the web version of the planner is a bit clumsy on the phone but I’ll give it a try and see if it keeps its ■■■■ together :joy:

Agreed on it being a little clumsy on a phone but when you get used to it then it’s fine for quickly pasting a route and saving it. Fingers crossed

Well it didn’t crash using that method, would be cool if working title or the guys who develope the flight planning stuff to release an iOS app or something, I’d pay for that without a second thought, but for now I’m guessing only certain features of the EFB are dangerous at the moment, so hopefully will be able to checkout how the sim runs on the new beta finally :flexed_biceps:t2:
