ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: SIM Crashes to Desktop when I attempt to save a control profile after changing a setting

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? Yes

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time I attempt to save a profile

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Load Sim
  2. Open Settings
  3. Delete throttle setting for Saito Thrustmaster
  4. Attempt to save profile to a new name.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant: Logitec Wingman Attack Joystick but it is listed as a Saito Thrustmaster in the sim

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? No

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

[PC Only] Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Driver 536.23

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

• a bit similar. My game keeps crashing when deleting a costum controller profile.

• Trying to save or delete any profile results in a CTD, this means I cannot assign any keys to my joystick. I have uninstalled and reinstalled fs2024. Same outcome. I did manage to save a profile but still cannot use it as it CTD if I try to save to it.

Not sure whether this is the same issue, but I just experienced a crash to desktop in 2024 SU1 beta when I tried using the in flight control setup window to assign a control to “all aircraft”, not trying to create a new profile. I am not sure I ever have tried that exact function before in flight. As soon as I tried apply to all aircraft, the games sound stopped, it appeared to hang, and 10 or 15 seconds later it crashed to desktop with no other error message.

Just brough VKB Stecs Max and Gladiator, spending $1000 aussie on them and I cannot even assign one keybinding to either of them without a CTD. Game is now unplayable.

Fixed it…

Run this as admin CMD line to remove all cloud save files.
start shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves

Then restart the sim, then shutdown to desktop.

Then locate and delete the cloud save files locally if there are any left in
C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs

Delete all files in that folder.

Restart sim and start configuring the controller(s).

My controller profiles had completely gone and I could continue without fuss. Note this also nuked my old Saitek X52 profile but I didn’t care.

Also note you may lose some other settings like cameras and graphics and stuff. I don’t know if that command above did that or not because I had also tried a reset and repair from the xbox app. Anyway, it is now fixed and my $1000 investment is now safely working.

Hallo, I have the same problem and would like to delete the profiles saved in the cloud. I have managed to remove the data stored on the PC. But with the specification > shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves I fail. Shell rejects this command because it does not know the path.
The path for the apps is: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe. What should be addressed?

SU2 installed with empty community folder: It takes 16 seconds to change a controller profile from one to the next and it still CTDs when trying to apply a profile to all aircraft.

Also CTD when attempting to delete a profile.

This occurs whether in a selected aircraft or when in the settings menu before choosing a flight.

Can vouch for this as this is the issue I have and everything sets to the default profile after loading in the sim.
