CTD with BN Islander

Perhaps I misunderstood. I thought the CRJ was also crashing, and that Aerosoft were not offering non-marketplace downloads to affected customers? And it wasn’t an interaction between the CRJ, and the Islander.

I will amend my post if this is incorrect.

Regarding MP receipts, I take a number of screenshots for every scenery I have purchased. I show it in the process of purchase, appearing in My Content, along with images of the pop up window transaction, and finally the email I get sent showing how many points were just spent on my account. My hope is that MS/Asobo would not be able to deny that X amount of points had been spent on my account, and the chances of that just happening to match the price of the item I am having issues with would be unlikely a coincidence.

AFAIK The CRJ is also crashing … I have also seen reports of the DC6 doing the same, and Others
This is NOT The fault of the developers no matter who they are or how big a player
This is the direct fault of the Marketplace Installation and/or its process

That’s correct. Aerosoft are not offering non-Marketplace downloads to affected customers. Their reasoning is that they paid Microsoft to handle this and it shouldn’t be on Aerosoft. Your method of “verification of purchase” is SOMETHING, but it’s not fool-proof. Anyone can modify screenshots. They aren’t official proof. To pin hopes that someone MAY interpret them as such is unrealistic. At the end of the day, there is no proof of purchase of specific products on Marketplace. Asking Aerosoft to use the goodwill approach Graham uses simply doesn’t work for them. And again, all of this takes resources. Basically, it could be one paid person who spends their day sending out “replacement” packages. How many copies of that thing sold on the Marketplace? That’s likely in thousands. You do the math. :wink:

True, but as my recent experience with a train ticket refund reminded me, goodwill is key.

You are right that MS/Asobo are ultimately responsible here, but if I go to Aerosoft for help, and they refuse, they just lost a customer for life. For me it’s that clear cut.

That help doesn’t necessarily have to be a refund, as they couldn’t for MP purchases anyway. But it should include building a body of evidence to push to MS/Asobo.

I just bought the BN2 today on marketplace and steam. I get an immediate CTD when selecting the plane. I am at work now, so I assume I will have the problem other have had that now it is my deafult plane, my sim will CTD on start-up. I will test this tonight. Others have been given a temporary workaround. Can I get that as well? It doubly sucks as I was excited to fly this plane. I’ve done airborne remote sensing missions in one in real life - very cool aircraft.

ASOBO AND MICROSOFT - STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE AND FIX THE MARKETPLACE!!!

May I Ask you to report your processor here “IF” You have CTD only please
Right click my computer / Properties and find intel cpu number including 4 digit uffix

Hi Graham,

the assumption may be true, but as we know, the problem is not the BBS Islander, it’s the shop. And if that is the case, then I will no longer be able to buy via the MSFS shop, but will only buy add-ons directly from the developer or outside of the MSFS shop in the future.
Since there have been no problems at all and no CTD either. i5-2500K

One question if I may,

At PMDG it was said that in the aircraft.cfg in the liveries section „isAirtraffic“ must be set to 0 for user flown aircraft by the SDK. In all of my addons, freeware and payware, the Blackbox Birddog is the only aircraft that has this set to 1, all other aircraft have a seperate entry for AI traffic.

I haven‘t read the SDK nor do I know the various possibilities how to create an addon for MSFS, so all I can do is ask: could that be the problem?

I had CTD‘s in „live player“ mode all the time but unfrequently. Now since I had read this note at PMDG I assumed that there must be a livery or addon that is used by someone else while I‘m in the area too that is setup so. So I searched my folders and since I have reset all your entries to 0 my CTDs seem to be gone.

The CTD is being caused by poor encryption during marketplace install
