CTD With Every Flight ucrtbase.dll

Hi

I am running the store version of MSFS with a 13900K no OC and a 4090, 32gb DDR5 RAM

I am running the sim using DX12 with Frame Generation.

Every single flight i have a CTD and event viewer is showing me ucrtbase.dll. I am having this even after a complete factory system reset. I have tried almost everything and followed all tips online through various different forums. Sometimes i will get an hour flight, Then while i leave the PC idle as i prepare for next flight it will ctd and show the ucrtbase.dll error.

I have tried it with no add-ons installed and it still does the same. I am at my wits end now with what on earth could be causing it.

I have the US Language pack installed too.

If anybody has any idea, please kindly share any ideas.

From a quick read around this looks like a fairly generic error related to Visual C++. When you’ve rebuilt your PC, is there anything unrelated to MSFS that’s been installed that has also installed the Visual C++ Runtimes? You’ll see these in control panel if you look at the remove programs list. If so, they may need updating.

Are you running Windows 10 or 11?

Hey

Thank you for the reply, I will take a look. I’m running Windows 11 ( Sorry i missed that bit of info out )

I have a bunch of the C++ installed, some when i installed P3D too.
Earliest ones showing are C++ 2010 x64 10.0.30319 & C++ x86 10.0.30319 But i am not sure what these were installed with as there is no other program showing on these dates.

Have you upgrade to P3D6 this week? Otherwise it might be worth updating the visual studio components. General consensus on the internet seems to be some sort of issue with the Visual C++ runtimes, but it could be a myriad of things tbh. It doesn’t sound as if its an MSFS thing specifically though.

Hi,
I have not upgraded to P3D V6, Just installed V5.

I don’t know what else i can possibly try, If a complete factory reset doesn’t do anything. Hmm

Did you test it after the factory reset but before you installed P3D5?

I did yep and same thing.

As a test to see if i was triggering the crash some way, I opened MSFS and just let it open on the main menu. After leaving it for around 20 minutes it just CTD with the same error.

I opened to sim again and repeated the test and the exact same thing happened.

So it seems without even doing anything on the sim ( flying etc ) it will still crash. Currently have zero mods / add-ons installed either. I’m well and truly baffled.

I’m having similar issues since AAU2. How were you able to determine it was a ucrtbase.dll error?

Event viewer.

I expect you’ve already seen this but here is an article on the problem.
