CTD's with Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000258a8a9 Faulting process ID: 0x32b4

I will give it a try also then

Ok everyone I’ve been able to complete 2 days full of flights all over the US in the pmdg 73 with zero crashes or issues. I ran my usual high/ultra settings with live traffic on, rolling cache off, on the current nvidia driver 546.01, with my custom .xmp RAM settings.

By happenstance I ended up doing all of these at once so I can’t say for certain which of these fixed the crashes (for now lol)

-I unplugged my ethernet and am running my PC on wifi
-It took a few tries but I updated windows 11 to version 23H2, which then brought along a bunch of security updates
-I brought nvidia driver back up to the current 546.01 (was rolled back before)
-At the MSFS home screen I manually select US east or west, I don’t let it choose automatically

so after 4 flights, two of them over ā€œCTD preferedā€ areas, I can confirm that rolling back the nvidia driver to 537.13 did it for me.
no CTD’s for me for now.

I had only once while loading the new Shorts 360 for the first time. after hitting the ā€œflyā€ button I had a vcruntime140.dll CTD , but hey … that one is easy  compared to this one…

I will report if the issue returns, but I am totally thankful for you guys → the community solves it everytime

Ive rolled driver back to this version yesterday and restarted fresh today and still it crashed so not sure if this is specifically related to the driver. I had been flying with the latest driver fine with zero issues until after world update was installed and now every flight crashed after i reach cruise altitude. The sound dissapears and then it freezes which is when the vein starts popping in my head as you know what follows!

Hi,
I have been using the 546.01 driver since it came out, and so far I had good luck with it. Only two or three CTDs in the last ten days or so.

I’ve tried rolling back to NVIDIA driver 537.13 and I’m still getting CTD’s - particularly when the flight is approx 2/3 loaded. I’ve never experienced anything like this in MSFS - but I rarely get to use it now without a CTD - very frustrated with over a week of problem solving … help micrsoft/Asobo

I’ve had 12 flights in the last few days with the BBS Shorts, and no issues. Before that probably 100 or more with the A2A Comanche, all with 537.13, so it’s unlikely to be the driver.

maybe it is not the driver, but since cleaning my Nvidia out with DDU and installing the 537.13 clean, (not installing geforce experience back again) + wiping out armoury crate (had the process running in the background although deleted the software) I had no CTD’s at all, now approx 20 hours of totally different flying around Europe …

so, maybe some Nvidia support unnecessity software which was wiped out with DDU

Or possibly an application customisation in the Nvidia driver that got wiped out if you did a ā€œcleanā€ install. Or maybe the removal of the Armoury Crate software. I’ve never used that so don’t know much about it.

I have CTDs since today with Error 0xc0000409, just installed the following Win11 Updates:

KB5032190
KB5032007

Could they be the issue?

I was having ctds left and right but not anymore after deleting rex accuseason advanced

Numerous flights now with no ctd since switching NVidia driver back to 537.58 from 546.01. I see there is a new NVidia driver out today which I’m now reluctant to try.

Remember if you do a clean nvidia driver install, it wipes the NVCP specific settings that you may have set up there for FS.

Also remember to do a disk clean to remove direct x shader cache.

No CTDs now thankfully. (RTX3090, DX11)

Same here. I joined the beta and I rolled back to 536.99, and my CTDs have disappeared. Also, no more CTDs occur when using the world map.

I have been using REX while having CTD and now after rolling back Nvidia, for me, this was not the cause

Oh good to hear and where did you roll it back to? Which driver because it happened again to me ctd?

That is a sad commentary on the state of things…

Running the SU14 Beta has stopped the crashing for me so far, but I was unable to get Bing Maps to load in one instance, even after turning on and off online connections

Same here. After installing SU14 Beta no CTD !!
