Current state of the CJ4 - worth trying again?

I flew the CJ4 with the Working Title for a long time. Then came the WTT AAU update which improved avionics, but also disabled some buttons.

What is the current state, e.g. compared to 3rd party aircraft like the Hondajet? Worth flying or should I not spend my time there.

I enjoy flying it from time to time and I fly pretty good third-party aircraft like those from A2A and Black Square.

I like it, but I also notice that (with all the other excellent and fully simulated planes) I can’t fully enjoy planes with buttons that are not simulated. That’s why I don’t return to this plane a lot.

Well, the checklists are an example of a much appreciated feature they removed.

The omission of the charts, checklists and passenger briefings is the most noticeable feature loss for those who flew the CJ4 with the mod, and there are a few other buttons which are non functional. Notwithstanding the navigation suite is pretty well featured and works brilliantly in my opinion, also the plane flies well, is fast and a pleasure to pilot with all controls easily accessed.

If you’ve not flown it for a while I would recommend to give it another try.

Personal Comments and Observations

The removal of certain features was necessary to bring the aircraft into full copyright and IP compliance - as rights weren’t available to things such as Passenger Announcement audio for example.

In my personal opinion, the loss was outweighed by the massive improvements in the AAU delivery, validated by real world type certified pilots on Working Title Staff.

To add to this: just did - after a very long while - a very enjoyable short hop with the CJ4. And with the camera view trick, I am now able to enjoy a view from the back seat as well.

I recently started flying the CJ4 again and it offers a very good experience compared when MSFS first came out,

The FMS is reasonably full featured and the only thing I find lacking compared my my PMDG FMS experiences is that VNAV seems to be calculated, with a TOD showing and a VNAV profile the aircraft follows quite nicely on descent, but for the life of me I can where it tells me how far out time/distance wise I am from TOD at any time eg. progress page, so I have to watch the TOD marker on the map to see when it will happen.

Otherwise, the aircraft flies beautifully and is a little power house and very enjoyable to fly.

Perhaps easier than watching the map is to monitor the magenta advisory ring in the Vertical Speed Indicator at far right of the PFD. When this drops to around minus 2000ft you will be approaching TOD.

You can turn on VNAV on the MFD page, I think it is the display or display advanced key or something like that on your FMC, with that you will have the TOD time in the MFD along with the map.

This is my favorite plant to fly. I’ve got it modded with the Woosle Mod and a custom livery and interior as well. I couldn’t care less about the missing buttons because they were things I don’t bother with in the first place. Kinda stinks about the announcements, but not a big deal. What’s surprising is that no one has recorded a new announcement. I figured that would be something trivial to do.

This Woosle Mod deserves far more attention!! I wasnt aware of it, until this afternoon, when I it accidentally saw it.

Guys, check this out: https://flightsim.to/file/29681/cj4-wooselmod

This makes the CJ4 payware quality.
