ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Cursor mode is still the most painful UI element to use and most of the time it simply doesn’t work as intended. The frustration is huge, especially when the inability to select the right element results in a major impact on the current flight. This relates to all aircraft and probably not only Playstation but also the Xbox pilots.
I attach a video to demonstrate how the typical interaction unfolds. This happens again and again and every time I have to toggle the cursor mode, to finally be able to select the right element. Here in this example a DA62 and the Garmin, while I’m trying to adjust the range displayed on the MFD.
Recently I tried to enable the fuel pump in my DA62 for the final approach as recommended by standard procedures. I moved my cursor over the fuel pump and clicked it with routine, but the focus was on the master engine switch instead and shut down my right engine. This is what I call a self-induced emergency and totally the result of cursor mode still not working correctly.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Very often, it was never fixed and it’s the most frustrating part of playing with a controller.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
-
Jump into any aircraft (PS5) in cockpit view
-
Look around
-
Activate the cursor mode to interact with an element
-
You will see that the visual cursor is over the right element, but another one gets the blue highlight focus
