When setting custom bindings for an aircraft which has different configurations, I have to set the custom bindings profile again for each configuration. This is inconvenient, since the aircraft did not change.
A preferred method would be to have the profile set for ALL configurations of the same aircraft, or even the same aircraft type.
This might be incorrect.
I think the “Set as Default” option sets it as a default for all aircraft in the same category. If this is the case, it should be “Set Default for Category” so it’s clear.
In many cases there is no help to figure out what some features actually cover.
I leave this forum open for now and delete it later if this is confirmed.
Are you sure it’s not just changing back to the default profile each time you change the variant?
I haven’t tested this, but I do know that if I complete a flight with my custom profile and then begin a new flight in a different plane, my control profiles change back to the defaults in the new plane even though I’ve set them to apply to all planes innumerable times.
Perhaps it’s doing the same thing even if you just choose a different variant of the same aircraft.
It seems like if you create a custom profile and THEN select the “Set as Default” option, it will carry through at least within its type. I’m still trying to test if that is the case.
Keep us posted.
At the moment it seems like it does not work. At least it did not work with the Chinook and the H225, but it is a bit inconsistent. It may still be a valid issue.
I’m sure they’ll get right on that…

I agree that it should also be set as the default for different configurations of the same aircraft but definitely not for all aircraft of the same type.
I have different profiles for each helicopter as I set different collective and cyclic curves for each one.
Also for fixed wing you have various combinations of throttle, condition lever and propellor controls and I only have two levers to assign so I have many different airplane configs.
I steer well away from Apply to all Aircraft as that sounds way too dangerous.
I do really like the versatility of the 2024 control assignments versus the 2020 one but it did take a bit of getting used to.
