Custom Toolbar disappeared?

I have lost all my tabs in the on-screen toolbar? All I have showing is Toggle Active Pause and Custom Toolbar, the drop down from that says Reset Panels, noting happens when I select this. How can I get my toolbar back anyone? Thanks

I solved the problem. I Installed an add-on to call Skyvector from the toolbar and for mistake I copied also a video in Community folder, erased both and all restored to normal. Hope you can solve yours.

Me too, completely disappeared.

My toolbar is only showing about 5 items now, missing are things like fuel. I am not able to turn on the missing items in custom like checklist and fuel?

I have also experienced this issue, which is actually the main cause for why I created an account on this forum.

Bug description

Upon loading a saved flight (.FLT) file, the custom toolbar is unavailable, as is the VRF map, ATC and various other windows that can be invoked through the menu or through keystrokes.

This is problematic due to my planned around-the-world flight with 200+ stops on the way, where I need to restore the flight multiple times to make this possible. Without ATC, this is not going to be possible.

What I’ve tried without remedy

  • FS restart
  • Computer restart
  • FS reinstall (Microsoft Store)
  • Update to latest version, as of writing this, 1.12.13.0
  • Manually verifying the integrity of FLT and PLN files, such as settings in conflict

What I’ve tried with some evidence of remedy

  • Keep at least (1) window from the Custom Toolbar open at the point of saving. If the ATC window was left active during the save, the toolbar is available 2/2 times so far upon loading the save.

Both of these times, the aircraft was not turned off, which I also suspect might trigger a “flight complete” mode be triggered on the flight, which then might cause the simulator to treat the flight as over, thus no need for the custom toolbar anymore.

If your saved flight is from when you are parked, could you try if this helps:

  • Open the .FLT file in a text editor
  • Look for the setting “FirstFlightState”, it’s probably set to “FLIGHT_RUNWAY”
  • Change the value to “PREFLIGHT_PUSHBACK”

For me, this restored the toolbar (except the weather). Also it now started with the aircraft “cold and dark” (engine not running). This was not the case with the default “FLIGHT_RUNWAY”.

Also make sure you have not started another flight before you load your flight, any second flight is prone to weird issues, better to just restart everything.

Thank you! This brings the toolbar back. Consider this solved.

I consider it “worked-around”, but I’m very happy there’s a way out because it was a little incovenient.

sometimes i lost the ACTIVE PAUSE Selection on the menu bar, dont know the reason?

The “Pause” key should be bound to the same purpose. But, if you have the toolbar, but some selections aren’t shown, check the settings, icon on the far right of the toolbar. That menu allows you to turn various toolbar icons on and off.

i know but not in the list ! This happens sometimes.Trying to find why!

Given all the issues people are having with the Toolbar, it sounds like Asobo made a lot of changes in how it functions, but didn’t have time to fully debug it, or perhaps even finish the code. Xbox release date was a hard date, and, no matter what the state of the code was for any particular function, they were on order not to miss that date.

If you’re really interested in fixing it for yourself, and don’t want to just use the Pause key, I’d check out the “No Toolbar” mod from flightsim.to to figure out where the toolbar code is in the main directory, and perhaps you can trace down the config file that controls the layout of the toolbar. I personally don’t know which file controls it.

Same issue here. I just want to report too.
I tried many times, in many .FLT files, the solution of the @Monkfishman3086. But, here, every time I change the value to PREFLIGHT_PUSHBACK, the game crash when load.

I’m thinking that the @dotchetter8698 is right: it’s look like when you land and pull off the engine, the game trigger a “flight complete”. So, if you save after this, the toolbar will disappear. At least here, not only the toolbar disappear, but every pop-up that you could access with a hotkey - like ATC, GPS map, checklist, and so on. It’s looks like the game says: “Congratulation for your good travel, now game over. Get out… go go… if you wanna continue start again another one”.

My tool bar appeared but sometimes lost the Active pause item ?

I have a problem with the toolbar that contains the map icon etc at the top - after loading a saved flight

When you start a new flight - the toolbar is there.

But when you load a saved flight, there is no toolbar

All you have is the plane but on pressing the left button on the Xbox controller you don’t get the main toolbar at the top of the screen

I hope a fix can be included to resolve this issue as the game is unplayable after saving as you can’t see the main toolbar

Problem with the toolbar. The fuel, passenger and cargo management icon is installed, but the tab itself won’t open.

Here, the problem was partially solved by the 28th november 2021 update (Sim update 7)

There’s a new option which is good to mark. Just go to “Assistance options”, then “user experience” and turn off the option “End flight when aircraft shuts down”.
But when I load the saves, the weather icon doesn’t load and the autopilot doesn’t work with the saved GPS waypoints. The fuel and cargo is working here with the CubCrafters.

So, the toolbar is there (partially). At least, here.
