Cyclic Inputs Cause Huge Torque Changes

Description of the issue:

Cyclic Inputs cause large torque spikes which must be compensated with pedal input. Talking CYCLIC, not COLLECTIVE. This makes hovering difficult and unpleasant. Yes, in forward flight, moving the stick fore or aft will change torque slightly as the engine adjusts for rotor RPM changes. But lateral cyclic should do nothing to torque in forward flight. And in a hover, even large cyclic inputs should have near-negligible torque responses.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

Bell 407

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Hover
  2. Apply any large cyclic input
  3. Watch the nose swing

Perhaps you need to check mappings, there is a weird default mappings of cyclic to rotor that I had to remove

Everything seems mapped fine. It’s the same controller profile I use for other helicopters.

Have that in MSFS 2024 with HPG H145 as well.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
•Yes, on every helicopter

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
•even very minor cyclic movements while hovering or just sitting on the ground can cause the torque to bump by 30%. Even when the Collective is all the way down, moving the cyclic will bump the torque so much that the helicopter will hop off the ground and spin rapidly.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I’m having the same issue after the latest SU4 Beta update.
Have you managed to fix it or find a workaround since then?

I’ve only had this issue with the B407, no other helicopter. And yep, It’s still an issue.

What is interesting is that this issue does not appear for everyone. I have this with every single helicopter.

We are probably talking about similar but not entirely identical phenomena. In the 407, I can lift into a stable hover holding heading with a bit of left pedal. With that pedal position fixed, I can then gently pump the cyclic fore and aft about a 1/4 travel and after just two or three cycles the helicopter is pirouetting right at 360°/second or faster. To stop, I just neutralize the cyclic and tap some left pedal. This behavior is not apparent to me in the other helicopters I fly (H120, 500C, R66, Guimbal).

Sorry my phone and this forum software do not play well together.

Your video does not play for me.

I have that in 2024 as well with HPG H145. But this issue doesn’t carry the tag. Can a mod please add the 2024 tag?

This is a 3rd party helicopter so you should report the issue to the hype-performance developers.
Are you able to replicate the issue in FS2024 with a 1st part helicopter ?

Jep. Tried it only wit H125 and it was the same even though 1st party helicopter.

I’m not flying often ‘low and slow’ as the ■■■■ visual distortion completely destroys immersion.

Tried to land a heli on a small helipads with 32:9 screen and TrackIR? You’ll get sick zoomed out or crash if zoomed in as you will not have any visual references available anymore.

So please fix first that distortion on ultra wides and then get the torque stuff done please.

It is not only about third party helicopter but also with Asobo / Microsoft helicopters happening.
