ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
In VR, the pilot is sitting on the back seat after starting. Impossible to fly.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
DA-40 NG

Yes and Yes

Every time

  1. Departure from runway

Happens regerdless of peripherals

Same without VR if you switch to Pilot IFR or Landing Position. Both will place you in the back seat.

Same in VR the pilot position is in the back seat. This issue still present with the last update 1.2.8.0

Same for me. The position can be moved forward but only until hitting the back of the pilot’s seat.

Same issue, demonstrates Asobo focus on the alleged vr platform

And even if you moved it forward - you are back on the back seat as soon as you open the menus. Plus if you moved the pilot forward your EFB/Tablet is outside the airplane pretty far away …

How can this have passed QA?

I have the same problem: pilot vr position behind back seat.
Keyboard adjustments are not sufficient to correct the gap.
It happens each time I use DA 40 NG.
First post on this issue is dated november 2024, I am surprised and disappointed it have not be solved yet.

I’ve found VR pilot camera placement to be all over the place. The first time I spawned inside the F-16, I was on top of the fuselage about 10 feet behind the cockpit. With the skycrane, I was even further back and below the cockpit. In a few cases (due to camera clipping rules), I was unable to even translate the view back to the correct position in order to save the proper cockpit view. At this point though I’m not surprised that MS did little to no testing on VR compatibility before release (not just camera views but toolbar, wake effects, x-axis positioning in walkaround mode, photo mode, etc).

As a workaround: Open Camera settings from the Toolbar. Expand Pilot category (below). Click the Pilot > Pilot position entry.

• I have the same issue. Only solution is Shift + AWSD- direction QE for up or down…

Same issue for me. Another example of how well they are supporting the VR community (not…)

The Diamond DA40 starts in the back seat in virtual reality. You need to use the keys w a d s to move around the cockpit to put yourself in the pilot seat. If you go to the menu to change any setting and then go back to the sim it will reset you to the back seat. This issue has been prevalent since the first version of the SIM. It is reproducible with either the Meta Quest 3 or the Reverb G2.
