DA40NG - G1000 - does not adhere to VNV

Hi Guys, I have a question. Maybe I am stupid and did something wrong. Here is my Problem:

I did a flight over the Alps from nother Italy to Innsbruck. The first section of the flight I was flying by Hand, roughly in the middle of the flight I decided to hand over to the AP to get used to it. So I pushed the direct to button and entered LOWI. So far so good, this gave me a direct to LOWI. Then i pushed the procedure button to select a procedure for LOWI. I selceted following one - I forgot the name of it unfortunatly  :

But anyway, you can see that the waypoints up to the LOC capture at 5500ft are set to distinct heights. Even a TOD was computed.
I assume I did something wrong here:
I selected the VNV button on the AP panel and waited for something to happen. I latter also tried the APR button, but nothing happend. The plane stayed at the initial 9500ft over waypoint OEV14, where it already should have been at 8700ft. I then did the decsend to 5500ft manual, sitched to LOC (CDI) and the plane caputred the ILS GS perfectly and brought me save to the runway.

Can anyone explain me the correct way (I assume i did somethig wrong rather than it is a bug) to make the plane follow the VNV profile.
BTW: I do have the same issue with the G3000 in the TBM930.
Some time ago I got it to work in MSFS2020 but can’t remeber what I did to make it work

Thanks in advance!

Did you select your ALT below 9500 ft bevor reaching TOD? VPATH does not activate if you don’t select a lower altitude.

Ah that might be it … I was always on 9500ft, i thought it would adjust by itself. So actually to what altitude I need to set it to? to the 5500ft where the GS shall be captured?

Set it to the lowest altitude in your route listing. VNAV will step you down through the altitude restrictions.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
I assume the one time it worked for me in the TBM, I did exactly that, but forgot about it :man_facepalming:
