DA62 annoying flashing and beeping LOW VOLTAGE alert

• same issue here. will post if i find a solution.

Found the solution (in my case):
Thrustmaster Aribus Throttle Quadrant had multiple controls assigned ENG MASTER LEFT and RIGHT. I removed the STARTER 1 and 2 controls, which solved the problem.

Explanation: With the default behavior (STARTERS assigned), both starters would be cranking all the time and therefore putting a heavy load on the electric system. Hence the 'VOLTS LOW? warning. With the new setting (STARTER 1 & 2 not assigned), the 2 switches set ENG MASTER and FUEL VALVE ON. From there just hit the START button on the dash or assign start buttons to CRANK AND IGN/START on the throttle quadrant.

Cheers,
Chris

• Yes’ish.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• In my case, this bug only happens during consecutive flights without going back to the main menu. I’m using an Xbox controller with keyboard and mouse. I saw the comment about the throttle quadrant binding issue, but doubt mine is the same because it doesn’t happen on first start and I use mouse controls for engine start.

My reproduction steps:

  1. Start engines and observe all systems normal.
  2. Shut down the engines. Doing so manually or with the hot key shortcut doesn’t seem to matter.
  3. Restart the engines and observe the constantly flashing low voltage alert. Starting manually or using the hot key shortcut doesn’t matter.

I have seem to have fixed it by cycling the LH Alt fuse ( right seat bottom fuse panel) and then pressing the clear button to remove the warning. Seems to be a work around.

I need to double check this, but I’m having the same issue and I don’t think this stuff is bound to anything.

Cannot replicate in SU4, spawning C&D, following the checklist:

@Askunk3100 : could you test again ?

Just tested and still getting low volts. Launch on the GA ramp at a local airport. Enter aircraft. Voter set to auto for both. Alernators set to on for both LH and RH. Fuel pumps off. Electric master on…and there’s the “LOW VOLTS” on the G1000 and plane won’t start. I don’t have any mods installed or anything. I checked the Eng Master and Starter options as someone above me found to be the issue, and no luck. Any other ideas?

Any help on this? I disabled all my HOTAS today aside from my head tracker just to rule out some binding issue. I still get “low volts” but was at least able to start the plane real quick. Is there a Discord server or something else I can do so someone could help me?

Check your engine start binding. If engine start is bound and your peripheral toggles it, the engine start button will be kept pressed to drain the battery.

The only thing for start or engine start was “ctrl + e 1”. Why there was a 1 there, I don’t know, but that was the only binding and it was for the keyboard. It did unbind it and re-binded it to ctrl E so there is no “1” in it’s place. I can start the plane now, but it does show “low volts” when I press the left start button. Is that normal?

Not normal. Something must have pressed the engine start button continously. e.g. Thrustmaster throttel quadrant is know to do so when its engine button is toggled. Better unplug all your peripherals and try again.

Those figures indicate the number of bindings assigned to this command (can be conflicting or not)

Hmmm…I’m using a VKB STECS Max, VKB T-Rudder, and VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Premium.

Thanks for this post. I have the same quadrant and the same exact issue! Seeing your post saved me a lot of headaches! I’m new to the pc version (was Xbox) and new to this forum. Your explanation was very helpfull and I really appreciate your work on this!

Cheers and happy flying!

Bob

This is a good find. Fixed it for me as well.

Thanks for this, it worked for me!
