I understand test aircraft can be different in their cockpit orientations, but is this a bug? I haven’t noticed the switch on any of the other aircraft I tried with their respective Test pilot livery.
Apparently Asobo decided to swap a few settings relating to the PFD and MFD on the DA62, for reasons unknown. Seems they forgot to check if this impacted anything else. This issue was first reported in the DA62X project and the solution was provided thanks to the author MrTommymxr. The changes only related to the DA62X but it seems to work for the test pilot livery on the standard DA62 as well.
I don’t recommend changing any default files, but if you really want to fly this repaint then just edit the panel.cfg file of the repaint located (for Steam version) here…\Official\Steam\asobo-aircraft-da62-livery-testpilot\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_DA62_LiveryTestPilot\panel.testpilot. Note - by making this chnage you agree to accept responsibility for any damage this change may do to your system. Personally, I don’t like the black test pilot liveries, so uninstalled them once I checked them out.
As this is a bug I recommend you report it via the Zendesk.
Thanks for the response, @BilingualHarp7. That is indeed a very interesting swap Asobo made on the DA62X project. Of course as chance would have it, I do not own the Steam version, I’m on the Xbox Gamepass/Win10 version, so not sure if or where to find the same panel.cfg file. That’s ok, I can live without the panel on this one aircraft, will just stick to using the other liveries for now.
I will submit a ticket via Zendesk, just wanted to make sure this was truly a bug first. Thank you for confirming!
Hi, it seems that with every custom liverie there is this problem…
Vanilla everything is fine…
An other bug i find, is when you switch on the Battery Master switch, the garmin didn’t start with a custom liverie, it starts only when you switch the avionics switch on.
With vanilla liverie the garmin starts with battery switch put to on, like before.
Can someone confirm this?
Custom liveries should have no impact on the PFD swap issue, if they have been done correctly. That is, the repaint should not have a panel folder or a panel.cfg file. Some repainters use a panel.cfg to get around the font and font colour not being functional in the aircraft.cfg. But adding a panel.cfg usually makes the repaint incompatible with mods like the DA62X and cause problems like this when Asobo change values in the default aircraft. The solution is to only use repaints without a panel folder and contents.
Mods like the DA62X need to use a panel folder to enable additional instrument functionality. Modders usually adjust their mods quickly after Asobo changes something in an update, and this has always been the case with the DA62X.
Interestingly even Asobo themselves fell into this trap with the tester repaint of tge DA62 made available to alpha testers. The repaint included panel folder content developed before changes were made to the default DA62. So this repaint also has the problem of the swapped PFD and MFD.
Yep, this definitely is a bug. I ran into it yesterday and was a bit confused… I tried to change my transponder code on the right panel, since the option was there, but the button was unresponsive…
I had to push the left panel buttons to use the right panel menus, and vice versa… Brilliant.
