Brief description of the issue:

In the DC-3 retrofit I’ve set my autopilot to 9000 ft ALT and VS to +500fpm and every time I activate the autopilot it INSTANTLY goes into a vertical nosedive and forces the trim to max nose down. I don’t have enough time to make any adjustments or check/change any settings because I have to pull up hard to NOT crash, thus disabling autopilot entirely.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

I set the ALT and VS before takeoff and got up close to cruise altitude. Then: Turn on autopilot, watch the plane try to crash itself, try to stop the plane from crashing itself, manually reset trim to proper cruise settings, wonder wtf went wrong and repeat.
